Hey, Kale. It's Blue, I'm on my way over to your place now, I'll see you in 20, I may be a little bit late, I'm running a tiny bit behind. I really apologize
Don't worry boo, we are running a tad behind too. See you soon drive safe! Mason's excited too!
With that I put my phone away and start my car pulling away from my parent's house, driving towards Kale's place. Excitement fueling my body Kale's getting married and I get to have a one on one with the two of them.
A short twenty minute drive later, I reach Kale's apartment complex, so I got out of my car, locked it up, and made my way up the stairs towards Kale and Mason's apartment door. I lifted my arm up to knock on the door, when it suddenly opened before I had a chance to knock.
There stood a blonde haired boy with green eyes, a black tux, yellow undershirt, yellow tie and dress shoes, but he wasn't Kale. His face saddened, and his eyes were hurt, red and puffy like he had been crying. This must had been Mason, but someone must had hurt him.
"You must be Blue, Oh my God, you're so pretty. I'm Mason. I'm so sorry, I'm such a mess." He said, trying to fix himself up.
"No, stop. Mason, why are you crying. Someone hurt you, why? What has happened, Kale loves you, he was crying in my apartment just eight hours ago, about how you wanted to move the wedding, now you're upset, and this is bad. I need to know why the love of my best friends life is upset?"
"Kale and I have gotten into a fight. He just left out of anger. He said something that just upset me. I think we just broke up, but I don't know for sure. Maybe you could try calling him, pretend you don't know anything. I know he took his phone because I tried calling him and he gave me the F-You button unfortunately,"
"Okay, yeah. I'll give it a try,"
"Hey, Blue. Come inside,"
"Oh, yeah sure," I followed Mason inside the apartment seeing Kale did something with the space as he grown into an adult, utilizing it more and more.
"You can take a seat anywhere you'd like," Mason said taking a spot on the sectional in the living room. I took a seat on a stool at the island in the kitchen, my phone finally dialing out, making the ringing sound to Kale's phone.
"Hey, Blue! I'm out at the store, I forgot dessert, I'll be at the house in like say thirty-minutes. I apologize boo. Love you see you soon! If that's alright?"
"Hey boo! Yes, that's fine. Apology accepted, I'll see you soon! Love you too boo!" With that Kale hung up.
"He answered?"
"Yes,"
"What did he say? Where's he at?"
"He's at the store. He said he forgot dessert, that he apologized and that he'll be back in thirty minutes. So I can get down to the bottom of this in thirty-minutes and I can also be the mediator,"
"You know Kale told me a lot about you, he spoke so highly of you, before he left for Nashville he was so excited to get to see you and form a new bond, now I see why. Just your vibe alone, the selfless part of you makes me see why he wanted your approval so bad, and now I see why he wanted mine so badly,"
"Mason, what are you even talking about, now you're absolutely confusing the crap out of me,"
"My darling fiance I'm home, Dear best friend boo Blue I'm here!" I heard a familiar voice hollering through the small apartment. That's Kale's voice. There's no way that was thirty minutes.
"In here honey!" Mason hollered back at him through the small apartment now really confusing me.
Soon Kale emerged from the hallway, but he walked right past me and greets Mason with a passionate kiss.
"I'm sorry that I was a jerk to you, I shouldn't have lost my temper. I know that we say things to each other that we don't mean, especially when we're angry, and we let our emotions cloud our minds; We shouldn't do that, I'm pretty guilty of that, quite often and for that I'm sorry and I'm working to change that with therapy. My therapist is amazing, and so helpful. She's the best, and I want to encourage that maybe you give her shot too, maybe once a week though, if you ever just need to talk and get something off your chest. I know you don't talk to anyone, I know that you don't open up to anyone because you don't want to burden anyone with your problems, but I'm your fiance, I want you to open up to me, and I can only hope that comes in due time, but I won't push you. You've been honest about all the important things, like when I upset you or do something wrong so that's what I can ask for, so that's the important thing, but if you're not going to talk to me about what's on your mind please atleast talk to someone, maybe even talk to my therapist privately, and it's Dr. Patient confidentiality so she can't tell anyone, if that helps, look the point is, I'm working on changing Mason, I want to marry you, not anyone else. I want to be your husband, not anyone else's, I want to adopt children with you, not anybody else. So please, if you can find it deep down in you, don't move the wedding, keep it to our original day,"
"Babe, I wanted to move the wedding to a sooner day. Like to August Fifth,"
"That's in two months,"
"The very first date we ever had. The day you obsessed over for years, it was the most important day to you forever. We laid under the stars, talking and talking, you opened up to me about the most beautiful things, you told me the things that scared you the most, and you cried I held you, and at that moment, I knew in my heart, you were the one. Now look, we're getting married, Kale. I love you, more than you know. I'm in love with you, and I'm ready to marry you, and I want it to be right now, if it could be,"
"Oh my God, I love you, Mason. So much,"
Before I knew it I was watching my best friend falling in love again with his best friend again, and it was the most beautiful thing I could have ever witnessed and in that moment I knew what I needed to say, to both of them.
