CHAPTER 13 - POWERLESS?

10 MONTHS AGO

Petersburg Electrical Substation, Plasma Town

A Primeape was climbing an electrical tower and his friends were watching from below

Mon1: "Farooq!"

Mon2: "It's not safe. Come down. Farooq, I'm serious. It's gonna rain."

The Primeape now identified as Farooq replies: "Y'all are tripping. This is the best seat in the house. Whoo!"

Mon1: "You know, when I said we should watch the particle accelerator turn on I just meant we should get naked and howl at the moon."

Farooq laughs at his friends' comment

Mon2: "It's already on. Consider me unimpressed."

Then in the distance a giant yellow flash of light can be seen

Farooq: "Whoo! Yeah, baby!"

Mon2: "Oh, my Arceus. This is awesome."

Mon1: "Are you seeing this? Oh, man. I think I am tripping."

Mon2: "Ha, ha, ha."

Then a giant explosion occurs and a red wave of sorts is approaching Farooq and his friends, fast

Farooq looks down at his friends and yells: "Get in the car! Get in the car!" and begins to climb down, his friends hop into the car

Farooq is climbing down when the wave hits the tower and starts to electrocute him and he grunts in pain as it is continuously hitting him over and over again

Mon2: "Farooq!"

Mon1: "Oh, my Arceus, Farooq!"

Mon2: "Farooq!"

He then lets go of the tower and falls to the ground, electricity still shooting at his falling body, he then hits the ground with a thud

Both the mon get out of the car to look at their friend

Mon1 stayed back near the car and Mon2 goes up to him. she screams after what she sees

PRESENT DAY, 6026

S.T.A.R. LABS

Wells is wheeling his way down the hall when he presses his hand to the wall and it opens a door and he wheels inside and the door shuts behind him

He then gets up and walks over to his podium and puts his paw on it and an AI appears on the screen and talks in a robotic voice

???: "Good day, Dr. Wells."

Wells: "One can always hope, Gideon. Bring up my log, would you?"

Gideon: "Certainly."

The AI then brings up a log of all of Wells' entries about Speed and she opens up a brand new log

Gideon: "Go ahead, doctor."

Wells: "It has now been 311 days since lightning struck. Subject has begun relying on his powers in everyday life. Using his extraordinary powers to solve ordinary problems. Accomplish ordinary tasks. Unfortunately, his penchant for the heroic persists."

Wells then sighs: "The fact is...he can be a bit of a show-off and while his desire to help others is commendable it is impeding him from realizing the full scope of his abilities. But...there's still time."

Wells then opens up the future article of the Flash Missing

Wells: "As the future remains intact."
