CHAPTER 17 - THE MON IN THE YELLOW SUIT

PLASMA TOWN

It was Christmas time in Plasma Town, everymon was setting up their decorations

One mon was on a ladder setting up his lights when a red blur and a yellow blur pass him and almost knock him off of it

The red and yellow blur were racing through the town, yellow trying to catch red, the yellow one was of course Speed, however he wasn't wearing his suit

Speed was currently chasing after somemon, something, it had red lightning, he caught up to it, it was a 4 legged mon wearing a yellow suit (The suit is the one at the top of the chapter), but more importantly it was the mon who killed his mother

ONE DAY EARLIER

ALFRED'S HOME

Speed and Alfred were setting up the Christmas tree, in the background was an old Christmas movie playing

Speed grabs one of the ornaments and passes it to Alfred

Alfred: "There's only two boxes left."

Speed sighs: "At this rate, we'll be finished by Easter."

Alfred chuckles and then looks at Speed who has a grin on his face: "Don't even."

Speed then stands up, and puts all the ornaments on the tree really quickly using his powers and sits back down

Alfred: "Okay, the only red-suited mon I want in this house right now is Santa Claus, you got it?"

Speed sighs, stands up, and runs to take all the ornaments off again and back in their box, then sits back down again and Alfred laughs

Speed then grabs another ornament from the box and hands it to Alfred, who takes it and puts it on the tree, Lazuli then appears from the kitchen holding up a plate that has 3 mugs on it

Lazuli: "Uh, these ornaments are not gonna hang themselves."

She then hands the two mon's their own cups

Lazuli: "Grandma Esther's recipe. Light on the bourbon."

Speed: "Thank you."

Alfred: "I always loved her definition of 'light.' "

Alfred's phone begins to ring

Alfred sighs: "And the Christmas tradition continues."

He then answers it: "Detective West. Yeah?....Alright"

Alfred then hangs up

Alfred: "Sorry, kids. DA wants to ask me some questions. Make sure there's nog left for me when I get back."

Speed: "No promises."

Alfred then opens and walks out the door

Lazuli then reaches for the remote to turn of the TV, she then turns it off and puts the remote back down and grabs Speed's mug

Speed: "What's happening?"

Lazuli then puts it on the end table and grabs Speed's arm: "Come on!"

She then pulls Speed to the floor near the tree

Speed: "Come on. We're doing this already? Christmas isn't for a few days."

Lazuli then reached under the tree and grabbed two presents, one was a medium sized present, the other was a small box, both were wrapped

Lazuli: "I couldn't wait any longer. Here."

She then hands Speed a little box covered with wrapping paper
