Lazuli stood on the rooftop and began to think

Think about your best friend. It could be your wife, your father, maybe somemon you grew up with. It's the Pokémon you can't wait to talk to at the end of the day. The Pokémon who knows everything about you, who roots for you. Now imagine you discover your best friend has a secret.

Then a Yellow Blur runs down the street below her in the direction where sirens are heard, she sighs

No, not a secret. A universe of secrets. Would you confront him? Would you stay silent? Either way, you know nothing will ever be the same again.

The chair at Spike's desk was empty, his computer was still on, and next to the screen was a photo of Lazuli, Alfred and Speed were right across from the desk reading a file

Singh floats out of his office: "Where is Thawne?"

Alfred sighed: "He took some personal time."

Speed gave a nod: "Yeah, Spike's been going through some stuff, Captain."

Singh grunted: "Yeah, aren't we all? You got anything on these gold store robberies? Perps hit up two more in the last week, and we still got nothing."

Speed: "We're working on it. Just waiting on some final results from the lab."

Singh: "Alright, well, pick up the pace and see if somemon can contact The Flash. Maybe he can help speed things up." he then floated off

Alfred looked at Speed: "Anything?"

Speed shook his head: "No, I mean, I've looked everywhere."

Alfred sighed: "Keep looking."

Speed gave a nod: "Of course. Yeah."

He then walked up the stairs to his lab

TIMESKIP

SPEED'S LAB

Speed just finished sorting through a file, and was grabbing his jacket when Lazuli walked into the lab

Lazuli: "Hey"

Speed saw her: "Hey, I'm heading out right now. What's up?"

She sighed: "Something happened, and I'm not supposed to say anything, but I couldn't keep quiet."

Speed knew where she was going with this, but played along: "What happened?"

Lazuli: "The Mon in Yellow, he took Spike right in front of me."

Speed reached to grab her shoulder: "Oh, my Arceus-"

She pulled away, Speed was confused: "Are you okay?"

Lazuli shook her head: "No, no. Not at all. The Flash was there. He told me to go home and not to talk to anymon because he would fix it, but he hasn't. I think the rescuers should be out there searching for Spike."

Speed shook his head: "No, Lazuli--"

Lazuli cuts him off: "My dad needs to know the truth."

Speed sighed: "I think that The Flash is right. Alfred and the rescuers, they're no match for The Mon in Yellow, Lazuli. They would just get killed."

Lazuli: "So you think The Flash is out there right now, searching for Spike?"

He gave a nod: "I'm sure he's doing everything he can to find him."
