CHAPTER 34 - TRICKSTERS

15 YEARS AGO

SOMEWHERE IN SUNNY TOWN (PLASMA TOWN)

It was nighttime, it was rather quiet, you could only hear the sound of a Noctowl hooing

Then a blue portal forms in the middle of the street, a blur with red lightning runs out from the portal and towards a home on the block, a yellow blur also runs out from the portal and follows the red one towards the home

SPEED'S OLD HOME

Mollie was tucking a young Speed into bed, Jin was behind her

She leaned toward the small Eevee and whispered to him: "Sweet dreams, my beautiful boy" and kissed him on the forehead

Mollie and Jin then walked out of Speed's old room, Jin headed toward their room, Mollie went to grab a glass of wine

She went to the kitchen, got her wine and headed into the living room, as she went to take a sip, the wine began to float into the air

Mollie looked confused as she saw the red wine float into the air

Time slowed down around Mollie, then two mon smashed through the window, trading blows as they ran around the female Flareon

Then a young Eevee who heard all the commotion walked downstairs and toward the living room where he saw his mother in the center of the room, yellow and red lightning all around her

Speed: "MOM! MOM!"

Mollie: "SPEED NO STAY BACK!"

Time slowed down again, the mon in yellow went toward the young Eevee, while the other mon punched him in the gut which caused the mon to fly over the small Eevee

TODAY, 6027

SPEED'S LAB, PTRD

Speed rolled up the map of Plasma Town and revealed a bunch of information they have about Wells, Alfred was also in the room

Speed: "This is everything that we know about Alexander Wells which is actually not a lot."

Alfred: "Didn't you read a book about him?"

Speed nodded: "Six hundred pages and the big takeaway is he's enigmatic."

Alfred sighed: "Your mom was killed by a speedster. Wells' machine turned you into a speedster. That's way too many coincidences for this old Rescuer."

Speed went and sat down next to the Arcanine: "Do you think that he wanted me to become the Flash?"

Alfred: "Everything he's done...since that night you got struck by lightning: bringing you to S.T.A.R. Labs, giving you the suit, training you. It's all been to keep you safe."

Speed: "And to make me faster. Wells once said that he needed me to get faster, why?"

Alfred sighed: "I don't know. He wants something from you, Speed. We just need to figure out what it is."

Speed: "Let's go get him, let's get some answers--"

Alfred: "We can't do that now as much as we might want to."

Speed: "Alfred, you had your suspicions about Wells from the very beginning. You thought that he might be the mon in yellow."

Alfred: "Except the blood from your house didn't match him."

Speed laid back into the seat and sighed: "Alright, so maybe he's not the Reverse-Flash. You think he knows what happened. He may have the key to getting my dad out of prison."
