CHAPTER 14 - BLACKOUT

INSIDE PTRD

Tockman was peeking outside the window looking at the Rescuers outside the building when Alfred started talking to him from across the room

Alfred: "End this now, and I'll talk to the DA."

Tockman turned back to the group on the ground

Tockman: "It was your district attorney that denied me furlough so I could visit my dying sister
one last time. Say goodbye to her in person. Time I'll never get back!"

Alfred looks over at Spike who just got back up and is behind the desk gun pointed and nods at him

Spike nods back and starts to walk over to the Noivern who had turned back to the window

Tockman: "So however long I have in this life I promise not one second more will be spent in a prison cell."

Spike is slowly walking towards Tockman, gun drawn and then shoots him

Tockman: "Unh!"

Spike: "Got him."

Tockman then turns around and shoots Spike twice in his shoulder and Spike falls to the ground in front of Lazuli

Lazuli: "Spike!"

Tockman then reveals he was wearing a bulletproof vest and grabs the walkie talkie

Tockman: "An officer was just shot 9.2 seconds ago. I'd pick up the pace in meeting my demands, captain."

Spike is on the floor grunting in pain and breathing heavily

S.T.A.R. LABS

Pearl has just gotten Speed to the treadmill and puts him on the ground

Speed: "I'm not healing fast anymore."

Pearl shakes her head and runs over and grabs a cable

Speed: "That's unfortunate."

Pearl: "Don't worry. When Dr. Wells has a theory, he's usually right."

She then plugs the cable into the treadmill

Speed: "What if something happens to Alfred and Lazuli first?"

Then both eeveelutions hear a noise, sounds like sparks

It was Farooq, he had just walked into the Cortex, he then walks over to the window looking into the treadmill room and see no mon there

Little did he know that Speed and Pearl were hiding right below the window

IN THE PIPELINE

Wells was standing and lifting open the hydraulic blast door and behind it was a Hitmonchan who was walking around his cell in circles

Tony: "Come to check on your pet? Why don't you just kill me, huh? Get it over with."

Wells: "Quid pro quo. That's Latin, Mr. Woodward. You've heard of Latin? Quid pro quo means 'something for something' and in this case that something is your freedom. I'm prepared to grant it to you."

Tony then walks up to the glass door of his cell: "How do you know I won't kill you?"

Wells: "A calculated risk. One I'm willing to take."

Tony: "Really?"

Wells: "That's right."

Tony: "Why would you do that?"

Wells: "Because there is another meta-Pokémon loose in this facility and I want you to kill him."
