BL ranking the most common plot lines bc lovehate

So we all been watching more BLs because quarantine things but also because there have been a hell of a lot more series these past 2 years than before. But we also can see a pattern of common plot lines. Ones you can see in even the oldest BLs tho so yeah.
Idc that some plotlines are overused but my question: why are problematic plotlines so overused?? just create plotlines WITHOUT THIS SHIT. it's not that hard ffs.

Plot lines / obligatory scenes in literally every BL that need to GO. Not particular order.

1. Stepbrothers
Rating: -100/10
Horrible horrifying throw it away no I hate it so much. I don't get it. Like especially when they've been raised as brothers. Even worse when they consider each other brothers. That's just too incest- y for me even when they're not biologically related. The ONLY time I'll accept these kinda plots is when the parents meet when they're not living with them. Like when they're not really giving off sibling energy. But still I could live without this plot, life would be better without this plot bye.

2. Childhood "lovers"
rating: 2,5/10
No. I can see the appeal. Like they knew each other from when they're young and they still reconnected etc. I think it's acceptable in series like I told sunset about you, bc they were friends as kids and then reconnected when they were about to go to uni. But like with lovely writer.. they knew each other when they were kids. Okay fine. But they made it that they already liked each other?? Which okay, Id straight people get some kind of love story as children then non straight ppl should get it too but the way they portray it.. idk I just dislike the whole we loved each other as kids thing just hard to explain. And yeah only flaw of lovely writer, it's perfect in every other way.

3. Sleeping together drunk and not remembering it
Rating: - 1000/10
Horrible. Worse when one of them is sober and the other drunk. This doesn't just piss me off, this "plot" makes me sad and it's also triggering. It's also so hard to overlook.
Like my fAve bl HIStory 4 close to you!! / SARCASTIC. I hate the side couple so fcking much. One of them is sober and the other is drunk (which was intentional as the sober one gave him drunks to get him drunk so he could take advantage of him).
I've seen people ship them and I blame the series for like 70% and the audience for 30%. Especially younger viewers i blame less. But in their "ship vids" 🤢 yes I clicked on it just to read the comments and see if anyone else saw what I was seeing. Luckily I saw some people talking abt the lack of consent. But many were not only ignoring the lack of consent, they were in the 'agreement' that it was consensual. The dumbass editor who made the vid, even was liking comments defending the scene/ couple. People were saying Shit like "to me it isn't rape, he kissed back and it wasn't as if he was held down" or "there wasn't violence". So hold up, rape isn't what YOU think, it is what it is and you can NOT give consent drunk. It was so evident there was no consent, even the scenes after it implied there wasn't so wtf. Also, these kind of series and scenes portray a very wrong image of sexual assault. As if its always violent. As if its only nonconsensual if they were literally forced wirh violence. No.It happens a lot under coercion, manipulation, there is the freeze response (not being able to move or act as a victim), there is the unable to consent bc the victim was under the influence. Yk how many SAs happen when alcohol or drugs is involved? MANY. the majority of uni/ college SAs happen under the influence. I just hope these people who watch these series Learn quick enough that there are more ways for SAs to happen and that they will lose this mentality which honestly is going into victim blaming territory. I literally hate these plot lines so much that I took a long ass break in watching BLs. Like I couldn't get myself to watch it. Thank god the new BLs apparently mostly fixed this issue but still.

4. Going to the hospital at the smallest inconveniences
Rating: 6/10
Now we had the dark and upsetting topic, let's go to a light one. Okay so it isn't horrible it's more annoying to me. And also if mf Farm didn't go to the hospitals then he would have never met that doctor I wanna hit in the face (in together with me).
I get it I guess ... plot line. But sometimes it doesn't add anything at all!!! And other times the guy is beaten up and they don't go to the hospital but for the tiniest cuts they go .. sigh.

5. A masculine manly "husband" and feminine damsel in distress "wife"
Rating: 5/10 only bc it could be done right.
Like you can have relationships in which someone presents themselves in a certain way like we all know gender ain't a stoic concept but ffs they always do this so wrong. First of all the husband and wife terms made me just feel icky, what wife? There are two men so that would make it two husbands.
Further I'm just tired of a weak lead with the strOnG ohSo manly man. Also the strOngG manly man is always labeled as a top and the weaker as a bottom. Let's noooot assign sht like this it doesn't work like that. Also, only ppl who are part of lgbtq+ should make gay jokes.. like straight people shouldn't joke like this bc obv reasons.
so bye.

6. Jealous girlfriend
4/10
Stooooooooop. We don't need a jealous girlfriend who actually has every right to be jealous. Like her boyfriend is cheating on her Hello?!!  Girl I get u. I got u. GO be mad at your cheating bf I'm rooting for you.
Rating if they actually showed the confusion more, like they did in love victor. Not every gay person uses their bf/Gf as a "shield" / beard so people wouldn't think they're gay, some (I actually think most) are just genuinely confused. Often, and this is esp the case with lesbians so not a BL thing rn but it's such a complicated feeling to realize u don't have to be attracted to men to be worthy or to be "normal". It's like letting something go. So if it's thst case, it's a 8/10.

7. A straight couple
booooo/10
We don't need the obligatory straight couple. we don't care. Instead just give us a girl X girl couple?? Like I'm begging just drop the hets and gives us girls.

8. CHILDREN.
5,5/10
Sorry. But why tf are there always kids they spend a day with. Like be it a cousin or a little brother or sister. Like I truly do not care about those scenes I'm sorry. I think the only time I tolerated those scenes was in my engineer with Ram and King bc that was acrually cute and added something. But usually it's taking up screen time I don't care for.
Or wait maybe also Bone and whatshisface in my engineer, again. So basically the kids in my engineer ksjd.

9. The accidental kiss
7/10
Okay so I don't hate this really it just makes me cringe. Next.

10. I'm only gay for you bs
5/10
okay so sexuality is a spectrum and it's not as black and white but it's frustrating how main characters are just gay for one person or some shit. And even worse when there is an actual gay character who is a stereotype. Like hello why are we praising someone who also likes the same gender but the gay person is the laughing stock. Like in 2gether. So annoying.

11. All theee goddamn miscommunications and not telling each other
6/10
Maybe I'm just biased or something bc word of honor and the untamed are my fave series ever but with those series I never have to worry for them betraying each other or not understanding each other bc of literal soulmate behaviour and also bc it's them against the world. I'm a sucker for that. So yeah okay I understand so tired in the real world cannot be like that but STILL I'm always worried abt them misunderstanding each other and choosing tk believe Everything someone says to them like just have some trust in each other.

12. Talent shows/ guitar things.
6/10. Its boring.
Idk but just drop it pls. I skipped the whole talent show thing in sotus and in why r u Bc it bored me so much.

Okay so now I'm done. Go watch my engineer, lovely writer, HIStory Trapped, word of honor and the untamed for non-cringy, not harmful plotlines!!!
