Okay so lemme start by saying that I watched this movie because it was all over TikTok and two of my friends who have very similar taste in movies and series watched it and said I NEEDED to watch it. And I also saw tiktoks over how theyre traumatized about the movie because it was shocking. So I was like okay I am in for a riiiide I am gonna be SHOCKED.

one thing about me is that I absolutely love when movies and series can surprise me like when theres a huge plottwist that I wouldnt see coming at all frr.

SO that is how I went into this movie but bruh

Okay so if you havent seen it already MAJORR SPOILERS!! FOR THE ENTIRE MOVIE!

So the story begins with Oliver who goes to Oxford university. He is kinda a loser without friends until he meet Felix. Felix is a very popular dude he gets all the girls is hot yada yada. I mean he is tho lol. Oliver immediately feels intrigued by Felix. They meet when Felix' bicycle broke down so Oliver lends him his bike. When Oliver goes to the bar with another friend he dumps to friend to sit with Felix.

btw side note, everyone was so hyped about the friend character (i forgot his name sorry tumblr..) but I dont get it?? He is nOt that interesting to me in fact he seems like a 'we live in a society' kinda person sorryyy. Like hes such a typical nerd who hates everyone kinda person not special at all to me. So dont get the hype but anyways, the actor plays the role well so.

Okay back to felix and oliver. Oliver buys drinks, and felix helps him when oliver cant cover all the money for the drinks. Well here a friendship begins. They do everything together. THey drink they swim they study everything. Oliver also confides into Felix that his mom is an alcohol and dad a drug addict, and later that his dad died of drug addiction. During this time of the movie, Well now we are getting tot he part that made the film more interesting.

It is clear to everyone with working eyes that Oliver is infatuated with Felix. Like lowkey obsesseeeed. And I already got some eerily vibes from him but still did not fully expect Oliver to do a peeping-Tom on Felix. As felix brings a girl home to sleep with, Oliver looks through the window and watches them.. like it was creepyyy. So here I say that the movie is interesting because it adds some like strangeness layer. I mean I have watched alot of like artistic movies the good ones not the artsy fucked up ones lol. So can appreciate some dark themes sprinkled in well. So I had hope for this movie at that point.

Then it is the holidays after exams, and Felix asks Oliver if he wants to come to Saltburn.. title mentioned helooo so shit is about to go down. Salbturn is the castle that is Felix his home because he is crazy rich I think part of the royal family or something?? wasn't too sure about that one but alright. So oliver agrees and comes with felix to Saltburn. There he meets Venetia, Felix his sister, the mother, father, and some guests of felix' family. Farleigh is like a cousin to Felix and lives there too, while his parents live somewhere else. Oliver already know farleigh from school.

well I think at saltburn i kinda understand what 'shocking' scenes people were referring to. First of all, oliver watches felix masturbate in the bathroom and when felix is done he uh.. he licks the bath?? felix his you know what isnt there dont worry sflkgj but would not be surprised if they had put it in based on the scenes after please. well I was kinda uncomfortable during the scene but I thought okay this is part of the story. It is creepy but it also felt like an important part of the story, like Oliver is obsessed but also hates Felix. Like he loves him and seems to hate him too (like he fears he is felix' new poor toy or something so that is where hate is coming from, and also farleigh keeps telling him this lol).

Then I think some more unnecessary shit happens. Like suddenly oliver has some master level rizz and seduces Venetia. They kiss and uhgj. well venetia is on her period and oliver.. well yeah he does stuff to her yk what and gets blood everywhereee. Now we must not shame normal bodily function I would never. BUT I WAS KINDAA DISGUSTED OKAY. But then again I did nOt think that this was the 'shocking traumatizing scene'. Because to me it was gross yes, maybe a bit unnecessary because I still dont know why it was in but alright, but it was not really traumatizing??? I would expect some very unexpected shocking thing.. well so I waited for it.
