KINNPORSCHE: let's talk about consent, once AGAIN.

Sigh.

So they did it again.

They made a 'gay' series for the straight girls. AGAIN.

They included s3xual assault as a romantic plot device. AGAIN.

They downplay mlm relationships to power dynamics. AGAIN.

They sexualized... sexual assault.
A G A I N.

I thought we were finally moving into another direction on the bl world. After not me and bad buddy the series I had hope. But nah kinnporsche was like fck that development we are regressing.

I also got positive things to say don't worry.. just like two positive things that's it. (.. kinnporsche die hard fans idk if y'all would like this chapter lol).

BUT FIRST.

The music is fcking horrible too like a lot of times it doesn't fit the scene well or it fails in actually portraying what the watcher is supposed to feel. Like the music played on tense scenes just distract me lol and sometimes it isn't a tense situation and the music is like DUNDINDJDNDND. or during a kiss like some series (aHUM not me and bad buddy) have such amazing songs during kisses and leading up to it and with kinnporsche it's just the same damn tense song and in like ??? Ok that's it. ? Which is crazy to me because kinn and porsche do have crazy chemistry so the fact that the music can make it kinda dull even shows how bad it is😭

STORYLINE
Okay so this show has an actual great storyline. Some parts didn't make sense but overall it had tension, it had great acting, it had background stories for the characters that made sense. So that's what I enjoyed about the show a lot.
I also liked the way that the mafia is depicted as ruthless and how they actually are literal criminals because in some mafia series the mafia main dude is suddenly "good" and doesn't actually wanna deal drugs and shoot people or whatever and here it's like yeah I fcking shoot people and do crime that's how it is. Like I feel like that's a bit less downplaying the severity of mafia (still maybe kinda romanticizing according to Italians on Twitter maybe but imo "mafia" just represents organized crime and there are so many organized crime groups that i don't think the Italian mafia is romanticized at all).
Okay I also liked the family dynamics because it shows that there are consequences to how families act with each other and that it affects the relationship between siblings and parents. Like the father wasn't paying much attention to his younger son so he was estranged.

Okay speaking of the younger son forgot his name actually but that ship was kinda boring but it was CONSENSUAL and CUTE. I thought the storyline was just extremely cliche and out of place but overal cute.

Now for the other ships .. oh boy.

Kinn and Porsche
So I did like their dynamics a lot in the beginning. Their chemistry was amazing the characters on their own are great. I also found Porsche's character to be so much more entertaining than I thought he would be.
Then ep4 literally ruined everything. Like everythinggggg.
It pisses me off so bad.

Like look at it like this:
Vegas wanted to r*pe Porsche as revenge on Kinn and for idek what reason maybe his selfish pleasure or something. So he drugs Porsche and attempts to assault him.
Then Porsche gets "saved" by Kinn who takes him back home. There Porsche is drugged which means there can't be consent. And then Kinn "has sex with him" or in accurate term he r*pes him.

And I think the viewers of this show and MANY other bls do first of all NOT understand the concept of consent especially when it comes to persons being under the influence. Might you, this was a very strong drug that Porsche was drugged with. He couldn't really speak well or move or fight against Vegas. We also know Porsche would not have acted the same If he weren't on drugs. Like when he sobers up the next day he is visibly distraught about what happened and seems to completely not wanting it to have happened. So his SOBER brain which is the REAL Porsche did not want to. How the hell do you even see consent here is beyond me.
Further !! I'm assuming everyone would consider Vegas a r*pist had he not been stopped and he has succeeded in assaulting Porsche. Now the fans would say that the difference is that Porsche was basically kidnapped to the room and that he didn't like Vegas.

Now thst adds another layer of fucked up. Because why call one thing r*pe but not the other? And why is someone who is a FUTURE love interest , like not at the moment not when it happened, someone that is "allowed" to assault him because he "might like him". It literally does not fucking matter. Like isn't martial r*pe also not r*pe then?? Because they're in love ?? NO. It still it it literally does not matter what the feelings between characters are. It stays the same.

So that's what put me off so bad like I was worried they were going to pull this shit but damn I did not want to be right.
The worst thing I think is that they just put it in .. for what. Like if those two were sooo attracted to each other they could've made it happen without adding literal SA as a plot device.

And ohmygod the fact that Vegas who attempted to assault Porsche later becomes like friends with him. And he even tried to assault Porsche AGAIN is just so horrible. Like it's the worst dismissal ever. Like nothing traumatic happened or something.
I don't even expect bl watchers to have a grasp on the idea of consent and the complexity of being a victim of SA but it's so fcked up for real.

So. If the whole assault under the influence did not happen I would think Kinn and Porsche were such a good ship but I can't look past it so no.

Now .. here we go. Next ship.. sigh.

AND THEN HE FCKING DOES HAVW A BONDAHE KINK when I say I was fcking laughing my ass off abt me accidentally being right like it was so ridiculous I had to step away from the episode for a second like I could not believe my fcking eyes.

And I still think those scenes were so confusing. Like it seemed like Pete was trying to survive and that's why he was trying to please Vegas. But at the same time he seemed to care about him too? Legit don't know how or when he would ever have fallen for Vegas since all Vegas did was torture him so??? Being kidnapped and then falling in love mwah I can overlook it in a mafia series but this was too random and also too much fcked up shir happening between them ?? All Pete did was cry when Vegas was around that's not love.

A character that's hot and has a tragic background story can get away with Anything and it's CLEARR here. You know where it's also clear? Real life. So yeah it's fcked.

And also I need the writer of the books of kinnporsche to be in JAIL. and I can also guarantee it's a hetero author or a self hating gay Most definitely a straight woman. And it pisses me off omg. They use gay men for their stories and then use harmful and damaging stereotypes and dynamics and this whole thing feels just slightly homophobic to me. Like basically they wanted to write about this and because they think it's hot they put two men together instead of a Hetero couple. Like it's giving I don't fcking know abt lgbt and I'm not gonna find out energy I hate it. Like the fact that being gay gers sexualized a lot acrually makes it more difficult to be taken serious when assaulted. Like gay men are seen as "promiscuous" and always wanting sex, meaning that it's expecte they'll engage when the opportunity is there. Which is so harmful. And stories like this just contribute to this

Oh right the author and I got real beef oh she got me angry. Because I was curious and read parts of the book bc people were saying it's horrible. So. They were right. That book romanticizes s3xual assault so much it made me nauseous. Like Pete was r*ped by Vegas multiple times and violently too I had to stop reading because it was horrible. And then they still fall in love. And it was the victims fault to fix the r*pist.

This show got me so pissed off im literally beginning to judge people who love it o have it as their number one series.

So leave out all the SA and I might have loved it. But it's too much part of the story and it fucking sucks. Such a waste of a great storyline :')
