Main couple is powerful, beautiful, fun, amazing.

Side is HORRIBLE THE WORST HORRIFYING TERRIFYING. FCK I HATE THEM SO GODDAMN MUCH. IM SO MAD.

anyways before I got on another rant bc that's reserved for the other r half of this chapter lol

THE GOOD:
So main are Teng Muren and Li Cheng. I honestly didn't expect them to be love interests when I watched the first like few minutes when the characters got introduced bc Li Cheng was this kinda "dumb loud" guy and for some reason they usually remain the best friend. But no they're the main!! Thankfully I liked li Cheng so I was happy. Anyways if you want to watch this series I'd just recommend watching ONLY them and skipping the side couple. Honestly im just glad I watched it _illegally_ 🤐 so I didn't give a show with such a horrendous side couple even a cent of money or attention.
But okay li Cheng and teng muren are cute together. There's CONSENT. Yeah bare minimum. And idk I just liked them together. I just thought the story was funny bc li Cheng js in love with this girl but she's a fujoshi (guess that's the word) so he pretends to be in love with muren so the girl will talk to him more but then he actually falls in love. I just thought it www very cute how people were helping him pursue muren. But.
There were some things I disliked tho. Like the I'm only gay for you bullshit. No you're not straight that's just how it is. You don't have to label it but it's just annoying when sexualities are just completely denied and it's always either gay, or attracted to one person. What about bisexuality? Pan?
That was my complaint but also ig the kinda unnecessary fighting but maybe that's just me. I kinda understood their fights tho so it's okay.
Also a bridge to the side couple. I liked how muren and licheng were both on ye xing si's side (obv) that they acknowledged that what happened to him was wrong and that they were mad at yongjie for doing that to him. So I really thought that they were going to keep heling ye xingsi but they didn't so 😑. Lemme just hop over to that topic bc I've so much to say I'm still so angry.

THE HORRIBLE:
Yes can't even name it the bad bc it was more than just bad. You need a bit of background real quick.
Ye Xing Si = best friends with muren and licheng, he is 30(?) or maybe 28-30 years old. His father is MARRIED to fu yongjies mother. They're known each other since they were kids and grew up togehter.
Fu Yong Jie is 20 and he's a student. He is obsessed with ye xingsi.

Lemme say that without the abuse and toxicity this relationship would already be horrible. Bc first of all they grew up together. It wasn't as if their parents met very late when they moved out or something. No they grew up as BROTHERS.
Other thing, xingsi said multiple times that he sees yongjie as his little brother but yongjie says he doesn't see him as a brother. Xingsi gets upset at this bc he really feels like brothers.

Now getting a bit too incest-y for me. But okay that was already a no go but then THEN THE BUILDING UP TO THE RELATIONSHIP YALL HAVE NO IDEA HOW HORRIBLE IT IS.

So yongjie (younger brother) wants xingsi to "give him a chance" but xingsi rejects him. Yongjie does not take no for an answer and is obsessed with xingsi. Already red flag. He follows him everywhere and when he sees xingsi togehter with muren bc THEY FRIENDS. He corners muren the next day and hits him in the face?!? And when he finally gets revealed to be the guy who hits muren everyone just gives excuses for him bc hEa a sAd kid. Boohoo choke.

So xingsi has rejected yongjie MULTIPLE TIMES. treats him like a little brother and calls him that too. He made it clear.

Then the worst happens. Yongjie being the absolute sicko that he is decides that xingsi, a living breathing person , is his and that he has the right to use his body. He gets xingsi drunk ON PURPOSE and doesn't drink so he is sober. He then when xingsi is completely toxicatee, has sex wirh him.

especially not as intoxicated as xingsi was. Pls i need everyone to understand. Bc THERE WAS NO CONSENT. it's horrifying how shippers of this couple justify it and say it's not rape bc xingsi kissed back?? Or drank the drink himself

Then xingsi wakes up and he's very upset and leaves the hotel. He comes home to muren and li cheng and he breaks down crying. Like dude I felt my heart break I was crying too.
I had a bit of hope that they were going to address this right and not have them end up togehter to send the message that this is rape and that it doesn't deserve a happy ending.

But ofc not.

So xingsi is upset. He doesn't get out of bed he's sad he's angry and he doesn't want to see yongjie. Kinda hit too close to home so I was sobbinggg.
But ofc yongjie does not give up.

He thinks his brother owes him love after all.

So he goes to a rooftop and texts his brother as if he's gonna jump. He wasn't tho so okay. Xingsi is worried and goes to him. And basically yongjie was like yeah if u don't want me so sad that I want to die then you should just give me a chance.

HOW ABR I BEAT YOU UP. oh my god this kid gets me enraged.

so manipulated xingsi in talking to him again.

So summary :
They're brothers and xingsi sees him like that.
He stalked xingsi and even broke into his house.
He hit muren for no reason.
Yongjie got xingsi drunk on purpose and had sex with him. No consent.
He manipulated yongjie into "forgiving him".
He doesn't give up at all bc he feels like xingsi owes him love.

Oh right and when they go to the spring hotel after the night where yongjie SA 'd xingsi. Yongjie says they shouldn't share a room and xingsi says to muren that he thinks his little brother says that bc he's being considerate of the fact that xingsi is still upset abt that night. WRONG. only reason is so yongjie can get with xingsi in his plan. Fck him. Bye.

And there's more.  Do y'all wanna hear something horrible. Yeah even more. THE MOM KNEW. THE MOM. KNEW.
Yongjies mom literally knew about the plan to get xingsi drunk so her SON could have sex with the SON OF HER HUSBAND. and she even justifies it and talks to xingsi and says that he should forgive yongjie bc he's been sl sad and lonely. WHO CARES HE DESERVES TO BE SAD AND LONELY FOR BEING A TOTAL PSYCHO.
She victim blames and basically it's all in xingsi to just forgive him.

Fkc this couple. Literally erase it from this earth.

They end up together and xingsi wants yongjie as his brother. So. Guess what they do. THEY REMAIN BROTHERS BUT. but as lovers. I can't. They actually live with their parents and act and call each other brothers but they also are a couple.
Incest nO.
Also yongjie jail. Not a relationship.

Isg I hope this series doesn't even get popular but it's part of HIStory😭 why they gotta ruin the brand the other history's are good.  Fuck them.

My m rating is a 0.0/10. Wouldn't even give it your time. I don't want this series to be popular bc that FODDAMN SIDE COUPLE. AGHfuck them.

But without the side couple it would be like 8/10 so that's sad.
