Nick's POV
"Go pack, Katie. We'd like to talk to your friend here." Her mom said.
I looked at Katie. I might looked like I've seen something not normal. I gulped. Katie gave me a look. I was pretty sure she's telling me that I'll be fine. I walked towards her parents.
"Hello Mr and Mrs Green. You wanted to talk to me?" I smiled politely.
"Yes, son. Call me Karissa." Her mother smiled, warmly.
"Nice to meet you Karissa. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
"Katie got the right guy." She cooed.
"Your name is Nick right, son? Nick Lyndon?" Her father asked.
"Yes, sir. It is." I smiled, nervously.
"Call me Ryan, son." He smiled.
"Do you have any siblings?" Karissa asked,
"Yes, a sweet little girl named Leila." I smiled at the thought of my sister.
"Oh! She was the one who was with you and Katie at Starbucks right?" She asked.
"Uhm, yes. We're so sorry we didn't drop by."
"It's fine! Any friend of Katie is also my friend." I smiled at her politely.
"Are you dating my daughter, Nick?" Ryan asked, seriousness in his voice.
"Sadly, no." I replied.
"But why???" Karissa asked, looking crushed.
"We're friends. . . I guess." I shrugged. "I don't think that she's feeling the same way. . ."
"Oh, poor kid. I bet she likes you!" Karissa smiled, patting my shoulder.
My mind flashed, She told me she likes me. But was that a friendly like or is it something like I felt? Maybe I was hallucinating? but I didn't eat anything that could be a cause of hallucination or whats it called.
"I like you okay?" I muttered, silently.
She gulped and asked me. "Pardon?"
"I like you, Katie." I repeated. This time, louder than before. "I know its too soon, but there's something about you that I can't get my words and all."
"I like you too." She blurted out.
"But you're not doing anything sexual or stuff are you?" Ryan asked.
"Ryan!" Karissa gasped.
I shook my head. "No sir. She's too innocent for anything like that. I'm not the kind of guy to take that away."
"I'm glad there's nothing sexual between you and Katie. I like you, Nick. You respect me, You respect my family, the best? You respect my daughter and her innocence." He smiled.
I smiled and felt flattered. I felt welcome into her family. Her dad that seemed strict liked me because I respect him and his family. Her mom, not saying this in an arrogant way, she likes me too. I'll only wait for Katie. She's the only one left. Oh, I forgot about her brother Rob.
"I don't want to be rude, but where's Rob?" I asked.
"Oh, he's also packing in his room. That boy was packing 4 hours straight but never finished." Karissa shook her head.
"I find it similar with Katie." I smiled.
"Like brother, like sister." Ryan agreed, chuckling.
