I based this story off of my own social anxiety . I was diagnosed about a year ago & it's been downhill ever since . It's a work in progress & soon I'll be happy /confident me again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ " I don't know how to skate , Eric . The people in there are going to laugh at me ".
I whined . He flashed me a small smile , pulling me along with him into the building . We were oddly the only ones in the building .
The building being eerily quiet .
" Why is nobody here" ? I asked .
" I rented the whole place out just for us" . Eric answered .
He handed me a pair of skates off the shelf , checking to make sure they were my size . I smiled widely at him . He was thoughtful of my social anxiety & made sure I was comfortable in every situation.
He held tightly onto my hand as we stepped on the ice . I looked like a Bambi , not knowing how to stand . He laughed loudly , skating behind me to straighten my posture .
Sooner than later , I got the hang of it & we skated all over the smooth ice . He cheered me on , smiling proudly at me .
" You're doing so good , y/n". His encouragement kept me going as I was now skating by myself . I skated off the ice & next to him on the bench.
" Thank you." Eric stopped taking off his skates & turned towards me .
" For what "? He asked curiously .
" For accepting the fact that I have bad anxiety . I know that it puts a lot of stress on you , so I wanted to say thank you". I replied .
He held my hands in his , kissing my lips softly .
" When I decided to marry you I took all the baggage that came with you . I'm not stressed & you definitely don't have to say thank you for something that I'm happy doing , I promise . "
Eric kissed me again , grabbing my hand to leave . I smiled widely to myself , proud that I finally found someone who loved me for me.
