"Sai how long are you planning on being here?" Zanah asks as she passes me a bottle of water.
"I don't know, I'm just trying to distance myself from Foreign right now." I shrug my shoulders.
"You need talk to him Sai and tell him how you really feel."
"I have and he's not getting it. I know it may seem stupid and naïve of me to want to get to know my biological father but I need a father figure in my life. I want Sire to know who his granddaddy is."
"Sai, I'm not trying to be an asshole about this situation, but you have never had relationship with this man. He never wanted to have a relationship with you until he saw you. Why are you getting worked up over him?" Confusion is written all over her face as she tries to get more information.
"Because I feel like this is my second chance at having a father. He's done foul shit to me but I don't know that person, I only know what he's telling me now and I want to hear him out." This may backfire in my face but at least I tried. I don't want to go through life wondering if I made the right decision keeping my distance from him and never hearing what he had to say.
"I just want you to be safe and not get your heart broken if this doesn't work out. I want to protect you at all costs because that's what you deserve." She reaches out her hand to touch mine and give me direct eye contact.
"I appreciate that and I will try to use my best judgement with this. I want to see this through even if this is the biggest mistake I make. I don't want any regrets."
"I don't agree with you but I will still support you. Just please keep me updated."
"As I always do."
"I hope it works out the way you expect it to."
"Me too."
"When's the next time you're meeting with him?" Both of us stands up as she asks. We make out way over to the kitchen and stand at the counter.
"We haven't discussed that yet. I was really just trying to keep him hidden from Foreign."
"Well now that Foreign knows, when do you think you'd want to meet with him again?"
"I don't know." I shrug my shoulders
"Alright, well I have work in a few so I'm going to leave you here to think."
"Alright be safe, save some lives."
"As many as I can." She leans over to kiss my cheek before grabbing her keys to leave. "Bye love you."
"Love you too."
I sit in silence trying to figure out my next move. My dream would be to have Foreign and my father get along for the sake of Sire and I, but I know that's just wishful thinking. What I can only hope for is that Foreign can be cool with me getting to know my father; and even that may be a stretch.
I pull out my phone to call Mama Nat for advice. Even though she's Foreign's mom I have looked at her as a mother figure to me. She's never biased and always fair.
"Hello?"
"Hey Mama Nat, did Foreign talk to you about the fight that we had?"
"Not in full detail but yes."
"What all did he say?" I chew on my lip waiting for her to tell me everything.
" He said that he told you about him deleting the call from your biological father and that angered you. He said that he felt that you put your biological father before him." I rub my forehead listening to her tell me how he felt.
