Foreign Megalos

I watch Ace intently as tattoos her first client. It seems that she's been doing her homework. Her lines are neat and her coloring is great. I rub my chin and continue to watch, quizzing her on everything she's learned from me.

"And done, you can take a look in the mirror to see how it looks sweetie."

"Yo this is nice! Thanks Ace."

"Just doing my job." She waves him back over so she can wrap him up before sending him to the front desk to pay. Once he steps out, she looks to me for the results. "So how'd I do?"

"I say you have a future in this line of work. The client is happy which ultimately means that Rome will be happy. Great work."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Oh my gosh, thank you so much. I thought it was just decent especially since it's such a small tattoo."

"You have a nice poker face."

"So do you. I thought you were going to rip my ass apart. Looking all serious and shit."

"It's all about how you feel you did really." Catching me off guard, she hugs me jumping up and down in the process.

"Thank you so much."

"Knock knock." Issaiah comes in witnessing the hug. I gently push her back knowing that Sai sees something wrong with it.

"Hey, my beautiful queen."

"What's going on in here?"

Ace turns to Sai with her hand extended seeing nothing wrong with what she had just done. Issaiah looks at me breifly before reverting her attention to Ace and return the gesture.

"Hello, I'm Ace and you must be the one and only Lynx."

"Nah shawty I'm Issaiah, his girlfriend."

"Oh."

"Sai this is the girl that I was telling you about."

"Oh you're Ace."

"Yeah, I just said that."

"I thought Rome brought in a guy to train."

"I get that all the time, but I'm all female." Ace does a spin showing herself off. I watch Issaiah roll her eyes and ball her fists up. Fuck, I'm in trouble.

"Ace, do you mind giving us some privacy?"

"No problem, I'll go bug Rome. Nice meeting you Isaiah." Before Sai had a chance to correct her, she walks out.

"What the fuck?"

"I know how it looked, but she caught me off guard with that hug."

"Why didn't you tell me that Ace was a girl?"

"I didn't think it mattered."

"It wasn't going to matter until she tried me. Lynx? Isaiah?"

"I'm sorry."

"When did Sai sound like Zay?"

"Don't mind her, she's harmless."

"Maybe to you since she's strictly dickly but that girl has a motive."

"If you want me to ask Rome if he wants to let someone else train her then I will. Just say the word." My fingers link around her belt loops and pull her to me. Despite her objection, I keep a firm hold on her hips.

"Don't do that."

"What?"

"Don't sweet talk me so I won't be mad at you."
