|Issaiah Love|

Despite the manner I received that letter from Foreign's cell mate, I'm glad I got it. The answers to all of my questions, my suspicions have been confirmed. While I don't know how to approach inmate 486592 about it, I do know how I'm going to finally cut ties with my recent guardian and his wife. As much as I've tried to be cordial with Von, this was the last straw. I don't want anymore apologies or "I'll do better," I just want to be done.

I walk up to the door and knock before taking a step back to wait for the door to be opened. My recent guardian opens the door with a bewildered expression on his face. I take off my shades to give him direct eyes contact.

"What are you doing here?"

"I received some news that we should discuss, is you wife home as well?"

"I'm not in the mood for this shit, go home." My hand slams against the door preventing him from dismissing me so easily. He wasn't about to shut me out this time. This time I was going to get speak my peace. He was going to hear the truth and face it.

"If I were you, I'd listen to what I have to say daddy."

"Excuse me."

"Issaiah what are you doing here?" Von asks coming up behind my recent guardian.

"I come baring gifts." She steps to the side allowing me to enter into the house. Familiar memories come rushing back to my mind.

I make my way to the living room and take a seat waiting for them to join me. My heart is racing a mile a minute ready to throw this letter in their face. Twenty one years that they've kept this from me and for what?

"What do you have for us Issaiah?"

"Glad you asked." I dig in my purse and pull out the letter that I had allowed myself to obsess over. Those words were tattooed into my memory. I place it on the table and slide it to them.

"Who sent this to you?" Von's eyes moves to her husband's trying to see his reaction. They know exactly what that is.

"A family member, but you knew that already right daddy?"

"Either say what you have to say or get the fuck out of my house." He snarls at me with so much hate dripping from every word. Damn, my growth really did a number on him.

"That's a lot of hate to have for your daughter Weston Young."

"What are you talking about?"

"Dear Issaiah, there are situations that I have put you through that I am not proud of. If there was a way that I could go back in time and stop myself from causing you pain I would do it in a heartbeat. I know that you don't know what has been caused to you or who I am, but if you allow me the opportunity to come and see me then I can tell you everything. I want us to build a relationship with each other if you allow it. Inmate 486592."

"What family member sent this to you Issaiah?"

"You don't know your own brother in law's handwriting?"

"Is this some kind of joke, you're mad that I disowned you so you had your ex-con boyfriend make up a fake letter to throw in my face?"

"I'm petty but not that petty."

"There's no way that you received this from this person." He snatches the paper from Von and bawls it up.

"Just admit the truth."

"What truth?"

"That he's my biological father!"

"Issaiah." Von tries to get me to calm down. All I want is the truth, I deserve that much.
