"could you take this to table four for me please, sunshine?" jeno turned around to see jaemin struggling with multiple different plates and cups for different tables. he giggled and took some of them from the younger before heading over to the table.
"thank you, jen." jaemin smiled at him gratefully before rushing to take another person's order at the counter. it had become a normal thing for jaemin to call jeno nicknames or petnames but it still made jeno feel weird. he always brushed it off and told himself he just wasn't used to the affection yet.
"you're blushing." jeno jumped when felix appeared next to him and his cheeks reddened even more, making felix chuckle and place an arm around jeno's shoulders. jaemin joined their conversation after serving the last customer.
felix was in the middle of ranting about his roommate when jaemin's phone rang. he gave them an apologetic smile and checked his phone. "sorry i have to take this, i'll be one second." the pair nodded and jaemin stepped into the break room before answering, making sure nobody was in there.
"what is it, park?"
"i took care of it, luckily his family were killed a few years ago so nobody's looking for him. he's an ex member of our rival gang but left after his family were murdered." jaemin glanced at the door, hoping nobody would walk in.
"i told you to only call me at night, park. that's good though, thank you. i'll send you the money now."
"no problem nana, call me next time you need me."
"thanks park, you're a good kid." jaemin hung up the phone with a small smile and returned to the front of the bakery.
"hey, wait." jaemin was stopped from going to the counter by an hand on his arm. he turned around and saw it was ten.
"what's up?" jaemin turned around fully to face ten and raised an eyebrow.
"it's jeno's birthday this weekend and i'm throwing him a surprise party at his apartment. don't tell him since, you know, it's a surprise party." jaemin smiled and nodded, thanking the older boy for the invite before heading over to the counter. felix had just finished his shift meaning jeno was now taking orders while jaemin had to make them.
"hey jeno, do you mind closing up tonight?" felix leaned over the counter and jeno nodded. felix ruffled his hair before rushing out of the bakery to meet his boyfriend. jeno sighed and rested his back against the counter, catching jaemin's attention.
"what's wrong, sunshine?"
"i hate closing up, it always gets so dark." jaemin cooed at the pout that appeared on jeno's face while he stared into the distance, deep in thought.
"don't worry, i'll walk you home." jaemin booped jeno's nose with a chuckle, making jeno snap out of his daydream. his face quickly turned a dark red and he turned around so jaemin couldn't see him. luckily for jeno, a customer came in at that exact moment.
jaemin returned to the order he was making with a goofy smile on his face, knowing he was officially whipped for lee jeno.
