CHAPTER 24
Pregnancy

The white ceiling and the smell of alcohol enveloped my sight and nose as soon as I gained my consciousness. I was all alone in a white room. There was an IV connected in the vein in my right arm. I tried to remember what happened, but my head hurts, so I stopped. When I felt the dryness of my throat, slowly, I sat down.

There were bottles of mineral water at the table, meters away from the bed, so even if my body still felt weak, I tried to stand up. I wore the white slippers under the bed before finally standing up. I tried to walk, but the moment I removed my grip on the bed, I immediately fell to the ground.

I winched in pain when my butt touched the cold tiles.

"Freak," I mumbled.

I tried to stand up, but my body felt heavy. Did he bring me here?

At the sight of him looking shocked when he saw me, memories of what happened before I collapsed came back. Luckson ran towards me. He brought me back to the bed.

"Why did you leave your bed?" His brows shot up.

My forehead creased as he madly looked at me.

"Why are you mad?" tanong ko habang inaayos ang kumot hanggang sa baywang ko.

"You didn't need to leave the bed." He looked away.

I shrugged my shoulders. I didn't know what the freak was happening to him, and he didn't want to tell me, so I better shut my mouth.

"I'm thirsty," I whispered.

With no time, he handed me the bottled water. He already opened it, so I drank it happily. Freak! That was awesome. I gave him a smile when I gave back the bottle to him. I almost drank it all.

"I told you that managers do rest, I'm waiting for you to say that," sambit ko at lumingon sa kanya.

I crossed my arms over my chest as I fought his stares. I raised my brow, but he only looked away.

"What the freak is your problem?" I asked when I couldn't stay still anymore.

He took a deep breath before looking back at me.

"If you don't want to tell me, then don't," I said when he didn't move.

When he gazed back at me, his eyes were bloodshot. My heart started beating fast when I saw the unshed tears in his eyes. He looked mad—so mad—that it turned into tears.

"Y-You need to know it." He withdrew his gaze on me when his voice broke.

I let the silence filled us. I didn't speak. Luckson said that I needed to know it, and it terrified me because he looked like he couldn't handle what he found out. He looked like he would blow up any minute by now.
