"The year you spent working here was one of the best. Thank you for staying with us, even for a short period of time only. Mr. Monseratte and Ms. Sandoval, let's cheers for our future success," Phoenix said as he raised his glass with wine in it.

Tulad ng iba pang narito kasalo namin, itinaas ko rin ang aking baso at saka sumipsip doon. I wasn't a fan of alcohol, so I only sipped before putting it back on the table. Maraming lumapit sa akin upang makipag-usap. It was such a relief that this was an international hotel—which means everyone could speak English.

"Did I surprise you?"

I pouted when suddenly, Phoenix was already sitting beside me on a circular table. Narito kami ngayon sa hall ng hotel. I didn't expect that he'd throw a farewell party for us on our last night working here. Akala ko nga'y magiging busy pa ang huling gabi ko, ngunit wala na pala 'kong gagawin kung hindi ang makipag-usap sa mga katrabaho ko.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Then it wouldn't be a surprise if you know." He lightly chuckled.

Ngumiwi lamang ako. He was right. But surprises weren't my thing. Kahit ihatid niya na lang kami sa airport ay p'wede na, pero nakalimutan kong COO nga pala siya. He wouldn't have the time to do that.

"Thank you for the whole year. I learned a lot from you and from the events I organized here. I wanted to stay longer, but I miss my home," I uttered as I sipped once more on my drink.

Pinanood niya lang ako hanggang sa maibaba ko ang baso. He licked his lips as he stared at my glass. Ngumuso ako dahil wala ba siyang sasabihin matapos kong magpasalamat sa kanya? Tsk, akala ko pa naman ay gusto niya na 'ko.

"You have a low alcohol tolerance." Inilayo niya sa akin ang baso. "You shouldn't drink. You have a flight tomorrow." Binalik niya sa akin ang mapupungay na mata.

I bit my lower lip as I withdrew my gaze from him. Hindi ko siya kayang tignan ngayong ang lambot ng tingin niya sa akin. I felt my cheeks heated when I remembered how the two of us became really close. It really started that night...

I swayed my butt as I raised my hands—feeling the freaking loud music. It was my day off today, and last night, Mr. Lavigne yelled at me. Yes! He fucking yelled at me because of a freaking child! Kasalanan ko bang napakaharot no'ng bata?! Kasalanan ko bang hindi siya mapirmi kaya nagtatakbo siya sa buong hall at hindi niya napansing madaraanan niya iyong kable ng kuryente?!

It wasn't my fault! Porke ba ako ang event organizer kailangan pati ang kable ng kuryente ay iaayos ko rin kung saan ilalagay? He was unreasonable! Hindi ko kasalanan kung napurnada iyong pagpapakitang gilas niya sa babaeng iyon! Tsk. Hindi naman sila bagay!

I continued dancing with the loud beat of the music until I felt someone behind me. I brushed my long brown hair using my fingers when I felt his hands held my waist. I slowed down my pace when he took a step closer at my back. I also felt my heart hammered against my chest.

I wanted to break his bones, but my sight was becoming blurry. Tatlong baso pa lang naman ang nainom ko pero bakit bumabaliktad na kaagad ang sikmura ko?! Freak! Hindi talaga para sa akin ang pag-inom.

Muntikan na 'kong bumagsak, mabuti na lang at nasalo ako ng lalaking nasa likuran ko. I froze on my spot when I felt his warm body right behind my back. Freak! Was I going to lose my virginity tonight?
