Dauntless Brothers

[Chapter 13] Cake.

I still haven't gotten over what I saw that day. It keeps replaying in my mind.

If only I couuld forget about it. But that's not possible because I have to see both of them almost everyday.

Zeke and I are one of the first to arrive in the dinning hall. No one is here yet. So, we get to choose where to sit. We choose a table in the corner of the room and sit down.

Soon the cooks start to put out the food. My eyes land on the dish I had been waiting for. DAUNTLESS CAKE!!!

We have to wait a few more minutes before we can start eating.

When the time arrives I pile my plate with cake and start eating. Within a couple of seconds the cake's gone. Zeke didn't get any so he gets up and walks from table to table, looking for cake.

Shauna and I laugh like crazy. Finally, he gives up and comes back. My plate still has enough cake to feel an army so I decide to tease him.

"Shauna, do you want some?" I ask her. She nods and I shift one slice onto her plate.

Kate and Henry are sitting at the very end to the table. I've ignored them uptil now but I decide to let them join the fun.

I acknowledge Kate. "Kate?"

She looks at me with a smile on her face. "Yeah?"

"Do you want cake?" I ask her.

"I haven't  tried it yet. Is it good?"

"You're kidding me!" "Seriously?!" Zeke and I shout this together.

"It's the best food ever created." I tell her.

She shrugs and holds out her plater towards me, I scoop some cake onto it.

I can feel Zeke's eyes on my plate. I set it down and make a big show of eating a bite. This makes everyone laugh and Zeke is itching to snatch the whole lot from my hand.

At that very moment Tris sits down next to me and I ask her.

"Hey! Cake?"

"Sure. But you hardly ever share cake." She says.

I slide a slice onto her plate and reply. "I'm feeling generous and kind."

Zeke looses all control reaches over, snatches the last slice and gobbles it down. We all laugh our insides out and then go back to eating with someone occasionally teasing Zeke.

And then it strikes me.

How does Tris know that I never share my cake? 

I'm so sorry that I'm updating after such a long time.

My mom forbade me to use my laptop till my exams got over. But somehow managed to get my hands on it.
