Tris and I are on our way back from school. Last night we stayed together till the last minute and then parted ways.

As the train nears the Dauntless headquarters, we both get ready to jump. I let Tris jump before me and then I follow. The moment I stop running, she walks over.

"Jumping off trains never gets old." She laughs and I do too.

What happened with Eric is the past now and we've both put it behind us after promising each other that nothing of this sort would come between us again.

When we reach the hallway where we part ways she says. "I'll drop off my bag and meet you at lunch."

I give her a quick kiss and head towards the apartment. When I stop before it, I hear people shouting coming from inside.

This puzzles me because no one in my family has ever shouted at anyone except me.

I don't want to go in, in case whoever it is pounce on me but I don't have any other choice because I have to drop off my things.

I cautiously open the door and quietly step inside.

Marcus is standing in the middle of the room with his back to me and...Evelyn is crouched in a corner and is covering her face but I can see blood streaming down from between her fingers.

None of them have noticed me. I take another step and come up short.

Marcus has a belt in his hand and the blood streaming down her face is coming from a gash on her forehead.

I never imagined that they would have a fight so severe. I might've never liked my parents but I always thought that they loved each other. And when you love someone you don't hurt them.

Just like  would never hurt Tris.

The neck of her black shirt is all soggy which means that it's soaked in blood. I pick up my pace and try to edge around them and go to my room. Which surprisingly they let me.

I close my room's door and drop my bag on the bed before going into the washroom to wash my face and clear head.

In two minutes, I'm ready to go to lunch.

I walk into the living room, to find Marcus gone and Evelyn sprawled on the couch with an arm covering her forehead. Her eyes are closed.

I stop for a second and quietly ask. "Are you okay?" A slight nod is all I get.

I make my way to the Hall and find Tris sitting at a table without any food. Most probably waiting for me.

She stands up when she sees me and meets me halfway.

"I need your help." I say the moment she stops in front of me.

"Are we punching Eric?" She asks.

Despite my troubled thoughts, I smile at this and reply. "I wish we were. But no. It's about Evelyn."

"Your mom?" I nod my head.

We walk out and back towards where I just came from.

"Is everything alright?" She asks, worried.

I shake my head and explain. "When I got there, Marcus was beating her and from what I saw she's lost a lot of blood. I need you to check on her because I feel uncomfortable touching her."

"I understand." She touches my arm. The slightest touch from Tris has a soothing effect on me.

When I open the door for her, a little gasp escapes her mouth.

She walks in and kneels down so that she's on the same level as the couch. She reaches out and tenderly touches her arm.

Evelyn jerks away and moan escapes her lips.

At first she doesn't say anything but when she notices that it's Tris, she tries to move away just like I thought she would. But I don't have much of a choice.

"Get her away from me." She says weakly.

Before I can say anything, Tris speaks up. "I'm just here to help. If you want I can leave or if you want I can help you get cleaned up. It's up to you."

She lays still for a couple of seconds and then holds out a hand which Tris takes and helps her to stand. They go off to her room and I lean against the living room wall.

When Tris comes back, I move towards her.

"She's lost some blood. But she'll be okay." She says as I put my arms around her waist and kiss her.

I touch my forehead to her's and whisper. "Thank you."

"Anything for you." She says and kisses me.

Someone clears his throat and we both jump apart.

I turn around to find Eric standing in the doorway. "Are you two done?"

For the second time Tris beats me to answering. "No. Not yet." With this she walks over to him and...

PUNCHES HIM!

"Now I'm done." With this she walks out of the room.

I feel my face go red as I try to control my laughter. Tris's head pops back in and she says.

"We still have to get something to eat. All this drama has made me hungry."

I walk past a stunned Eric and meet Tris in the hallway.

"That was awesome." I say the moment we've put some distance between us and him.

That's it for this chapter.

I saw how happy some people were about FourTris. (@thebravefangirl13 @I_am_Divergent4 @maurcharlotte)
