I leave last class, history to meet Tris at the nurse's office. I push open the door and walk in. "Is Tris ready to go home?"

"Yes. Go straight into that room." I open the door she pointed to. There is nothing in the room except a bed and a metal table.

I sit on the bed's edge and whisper. "Tris?"

Her eyes flutter open and she looks at me.

"How are you?" I ask.

"Good. Though, my head hurts." She replies.

"But your head was fine till lunch."

"I don't know. I woke up when the bell rang and it was throbbing." She replies.

"Do you want me to ask for some medicine?" I offer.

"No. I'll be fine."

She swings her legs off the bed and stands up. I follow her out of the room and onto the hallway. I take hold of her hand and pull her towards the exit. When we've left the school building, I ask her.

"Are you up for a walk?"

She shakes her head. "Can we just take the train?"

That's strange. Tris is always dying to walk back to Dauntless headquarters. Maybe it's the headache.

"Sure."

The train is right around the corner, so we have to run to catch it. On board Tris slumps against the wall. I gently push her down so that she's sitting on the train's floor with her eyes closed.

"You don't look fine. I think you should visit the nurse when we get back."

At once her eyes open up and she says. "No. That's not necessary. I'm fine." She even gives me a smile.

But I'm not convinced because her eyes don't have the usual warmth. They look cold and hard. And the way she's talking us also not like her.

She must be trying to make me feel better. I settle for this thought for the rest of the ride.

Soon people start to jump off. Tris also gets up and jumps off. I follow closely behind. When I land next to her, I start to reach for her hand but she pulls away.

"I don't need your help." She spits at me. The headache really is bringing out the worst of her.

"Do you want me to walk you home?" I ask.

"No." She states before walking away. I try to tell myself that she's been through a lot and needs to calm down. But some part of me still remains worried for her.

I leave my books at the apartment and go for lunch.

Half way through lunch, Marcus walks in. For some reason he has a proud look on his face and is walking in an arrogant manner. I turn around to look at the leader's table. Eric is not there which means that it must've been something to do with him.

No Eric shows up for the whole of lunch and even more worryingly, Tris doesn't either.

When lunch is over for some reason I have a sick feeling inside me. I decide to go back to the apartment and complete my homework.

When I turn onto my hallway, I find Zeke running towards me.

"Are you okay with it?" He asks.

"Okay with what?" I ask confused.

He gives me a strange look and walks away. What is happening? First Tris and now Zeke!

I go in to find Evelyn reading a paper. She looks up when I walk in and holds out the paper for me to read.

After reading it I start feeling faint and slump onto a couch. It hurts more than the beatings, more than anything else in life.

Evelyn walks over to me and puts her arm around me. I lean into her and break down.

The paper from my hands and falls to the ground. But the words won't leave my head. I feel like my life has to come to an end.

This is the first chapter. The next update will be tomorrow, so don't forget to check it out.
