It's the day after Kate's ceremony. The moment I walk into the dinning hall, a stream of chatter hits me. This doesn't strike me as anything out of the ordinary.
I spot Tris at a table and make my way over to her.
"Hey." I say as I sit down next to her.
In reply she leans forward and presses her lips to mine. I pull away and press my lips to her forehead.
"Steady the buffs." Zeke says as he and Shauna sit down across from us.
I pick up a piece of bread from Tris's plate and throw it him. He neatly catches it mid air and takes a bite, saying. "Thanks."
I shake my head at this.
"How are you?" Tris asks me.
"I'm not sure. I woke today feeling as if nothing had happened." After a pause I ask. "You?"
"Not sure either. It'll take me a while to get used to this." She replies, leaning it to me.
"Damn it!" Zeke screams.
"What?" I ask, putting an arm around Tris's shoulder.
He's massaging his temple with his fingers. Shauna reaches over and runs a hand across her forehead but he at once brushes her off. This surprises me because he never does this to her.
"Hey man. Are you alright?" I ask.
"No! No I'm not! I need water!" He shouts.
"Okay. Okay." With this Shauna gets up to fetch him his water.
In no time she's back with three pitchers of water. Without pouring it into a cup, he puts one to his mouth and starts gulping it out.
Tris reaches for one but he at once snatches it away from her and gulps it down too.
"What's gotten into you?" Shauna asks him.
"My head's about to burst!" He screams through gritted teeth.
"But...oh." Realisation dawns on her face.
"What?" Tris asks her.
Instead of answering Tris's question she turns to Zeke. "How much did you drink last night?"
"I lost count after my fifth drink." He replies, moaning.
I smile at the simplicity of the situation. Tris and Shauna do too. He looks up at us. "What?!"
"Nothing." We all say in unison, shaking our heads.
He goes back to muttering to himself and rubbing his head. I grab hold of Tris's hand and pull her up. "Walk with me?"
"Sure." She says.
I pull her out into the hallway. Hardly anyone is about since they're all at breakfast.
When we reach a deserted hallway she backs me up against a wall and presses her forehead to mine.
"There's been so much going on these days. I missed you." She tells me.
"Me too." I reply as I kiss her.
I wrap my arms around her waist and she runs her hands through me hair. When we pull away, we're both panting.
I kiss her cheek and say. "Yeah. I definitely missed this."
She giggles and presses her touches her lips to mine. Almost at once she pulls away and starts running down the corridor.
"Where are you going?!" I shout after her.
She stops for the briefest minute and shouts. "Come on!" I chuckle and start running. In no time we're running across the Pit and towards the training room. We stop outside the room trying to catch out breath.
One look at each others faces and we both burst out laughing. She grabs hold of my hand and pulls me in.
She walks over to a locker where supplies are kept and pulls put a book. She walks back to me and hands it over.
The cover says. "Romeo and Juliet."
"I've never seen this before." I say when I look up.
"I know. No one knows about it. I found a factionless man reading it and told me that it was written before the war. I promised that I would return to him." After a pause she adds. "You should read it. Then you'll understand why I asked you to."
"Is it good?" I ask.
"Read for yourself." She says as she skips out of the room.
Hiiiii guys!
I wanted to update sooner but exams...
