Clay's eyes are glowing red with rage and hunger. I can see him fighting to maintain his sanity as the predator inside him cries out to be let loose. He leaves us standing there as he runs. Why is Clay acting this way now if he told me he had this under control?

"What the hell just happened?" I ask Logan.

"Someone's hurt. I'm assuming Clay has told you what happens when he smells fresh blood?" He says.

I shake my head no. Clay never told me that fresh blood was a trigger. Logan explains that when someone in fear spills blood, it heightens his predator senses. Lately, he has been able to control it, but his mind has been occupied by something else. Me. Logan and I go and find Brie. She is with Valarie, who has been badly cut on her arm.

"What happened?" I asked.

"That stupid bitch Sloane cut me. She said it was to make a point!" Valarie says behind her tears. I look around to find Sloane by the water with many guys. She looks over at me and waves with a snarky look on her face.

"She must have seen you with Clay," Brie says. "She will continue this until you're scared of him."

"I need to find Clay!" I say. Ignoring what Brie just told me. Logan tells me he went home. I start to leave when Brie grabs my arm. "Be careful, please. When he gets like this, it's bad." I nod and begin to move.

The moon illuminates my path as I saunter barefoot across the streets to his house. I frequently encounter perilous circumstances. I have to add that one of the stupidest blunders I have ever made was approaching a dangerous animal. It's impossible for me not to find this exciting. I am aware that I shouldn't be here, and that what I am doing is improper. This is a glaring mistake, but I'm prepared to accept it. I'm glad to be in this position because it gives me a high. It takes me a long time to get to Clay's, but I do. As I enter, I hear him throwing things.

"Clay, it's Raven!" I yell.

"Get out!" he shouts.

He's upstairs, so I climb the stairs and move in the direction of the shattering noises. I'm observing the mess he created from the doorway. His eyes are very blood red as he turns to face me. My thoughts suddenly return to my dreams. The entire time what I have been seeing and hearing, it has always been him. I'm playing games with my nightmare. What could go wrong?

"I told you to get out!" He shouts and turns his body to face me.

"No." I stand firm.

"Raven, I'm serious. I don't want to hurt you," he says, taking another step closer. I can feel his breath on my face and the heat radiating off his body. But I refuse to back down. "You won't hurt me," I say, trying to convince myself as much as him. "I know you won't." My heart races at the anticipation of what's to come.

"No, you need to go. I can kill you!" He says with frustration. I take a step closer, ignoring the warning in his voice. "You won't," I repeat firmly. "I trust you." His eyes soften slightly, but the tension in his body remains. I know I'm taking a risk, but something tells me that he won't cause me any pain.

I continue to approach him until I can almost feel his breathing. His dark eyes fix on me as he struggles to control his appetite. As he resists the urge to tear me apart, the veins in his arms begin to explode. So I try to calm him down by doing what I do best.

"Kiss me or kill me. We both know you're only capable of one." Looking into his eyes. I face the king of this town, who's now towering over me, looking at me as if I'm a new toy to play with. It's awkward and silent as I wait for him to speak. His eyes see right into my soul. I get a tingly feeling as he breathes heavily.

My lips are touched by his as he draws me close to him. He lifts me by the waist, and I wrap my legs around him because I feel so weak in his arms. He feels wonderful. He places me on his bed. As he presses against me, I raise my hands to take off his shirt.

As he slips the shirt over his head, his mouth leaves mine, and I can't take my eyes off his tattoos. He begins by kissing my neck before moving to my stomach. I get goosebumps all over me because of him. He carefully climbs back up my body to kiss me before turning to face me. He has his normal eyes back. I'm his deterrent; I was right.

"Why did you stop?" I ask, breathing heavily. He props himself up and smirks with his ten million dollar smile, exposing a shimmer in his eyes I've never noticed before. The predator is gone within seconds.

"I do want to play, but I'm not sure how far I can go," he adds gently in response to my previous query. "Because I can tell you haven't been touched by what just happened," he says. Between my legs, he inserts his hands. He kisses my neck and replies, "Not like this anyway."

"As much as you portray this bad girl image, you're far from it." He is right, no matter how many boys have come in and out of my life. I've never been this physically close to any guy. I look into this man's eyes. The eyes that have me feeling some way. I refuse to show emotions. I convince myself that I won't fall for him. We're just having fun.

"Well, I don't mind us being a casual thing. All I want right now is for you to kiss me." I say it quietly.

He draws me in for a kiss. I hand him the reins. I grab his hand and guide it back to where it had been. He can sense that I don't want him to stop because he pushes his hand across my thighs while I scream his name. He is exhaling heavily, and when he puts his lips to my ear, I invite him to embrace me. I know that this is wrong, but it feels too good to stop.

I can feel the heat between us growing, and I know that this is just the beginning. I run my fingers through his hair, feeling the soft strands slip between my fingers. His lips move down my neck, leaving a trail of kisses that make me shiver with pleasure. I tilt my head back, giving him better access, and he takes full advantage of it. His hands roam over my body, exploring every curve and dip as we lose ourselves in the moment.
