As Raven apologises profusely, I can't help but laugh as we make our way back. It's sweet. "I know you're mad at me, but I only did it because I don't want you or our friends to get hurt. They want me, so they don't care what happens to you. My job is to protect you." Silence, I don't say anything. I park the car, and she yells, "I'm sorry, okay."

I cup her face and look right into her eyes. "Your job is to be my loving girlfriend, Brie's best friend, and Logan's annoying little sister, if he ever had one." I laugh. "My job is to protect you." I lean in and kiss her. Tasting her sweet lips makes me forget the stupid ideas she comes up with.

As we step back into the girl's apartment, Lia speaks up. "After everything that has happened, I feel the need to stay here to watch if the pack tries to attack. If that's okay with you girls?" I think it's a good idea. We need someone around who knows the Lycans just as well as Lia does. Plus, Lia seems to have a good sense of intuition when it comes to their behaviour.

"Yes, you can stay here while we stay at Clay's, that way you're not in a hotel." Brie states. Lia turns to face her and says with a warm smile. "Thank you, Brie."

"Go pack your bags," I whisper in Raven's ear. She nods and heads to her room. I watch as she disappears down the hall. I finally exhale and turn back to Lia. Logan and I take a seat on the sofa. I run my hands through my hair. "This really isn't over, is it? It can't be this easy, can it?" Logan questions the pack's actions.

Lia takes a seat in front of us and sighs, "Unfortunately, I don't think it is. But I am hoping that they won't start a war. For their own sake." She takes a deep breath.

"Ready!" Both girls say and start to laugh. I get up to grab Raven's bags. I stop in front of Lia and kiss her cheek. "Thank you for believing in us."

She smiles, and Raven comes up from behind and hugs Lia goodbye. Brie hands her a key to the apartment, and we head home.

I take her hand into mine as I drive. The night is silent, and I quickly glance over at her. The moonlight hits her face as she leans against the window. I smile and kiss her hand. I pull into the driveway and turn off the engine. We sit there for a moment, taking in the stillness of the night, before getting out of the car.

We finally make our way inside, and Raven heads upstairs. I tell her I'll join her in a moment. I head to the kitchen, grab a blood bag, and down it as fast as I can before heading upstairs.

I walk into my room to see Raven unpacking her clothes, putting everything away. She throws some clothes on the floor and says, "Can you hand me the basket in the closet, please? I need to do some laundry."

I walk over and place it down beside her as she strips off the clothes she has on. I walk behind her and whisper, "Don't forget this." As I unclasp her bra. It falls off her shoulders, and I watch the goosebumps rise on her body. "Or this." I put my hands on the waist of her panties, pulling them down.

Her head pressed against my chest, and my fingers slowly tease her. "Clay," she says softly as her breathing becomes staggered. I move my hand away and start to laugh. "Seriously?" She giggles.

I lay back on the bed as she puts on shorts and my t-shirt. I pat the bed for her to join me, she laughs and picks up the laundry basket. "You wish." She laughs again and walks out the door. I put my head back and smile.

I get up and follow her to the basement, passing Brie and Logan. "We're headed to the movies, you and Ray want to join?" Logan asks.

"No, we're staying home; this has been a really royally twisted up day." Logan shrugs his shoulders as I just shake my head. Nothing seems to faze these people. "Logan," he turns around, "Thanks."

"Anytime, bro." He smiles and grabs Brie's hand. I head downstairs, punching the bag as I walk by, heading towards Raven. I wrap my arms around her and kiss her neck. "Let's go to London for a few days," I whisper.

She turns around to face me. My hand on her cheek. "I want to show you where I'm from, and hopefully one day we can call it home." Her smile shines as her eyes glisten with excitement. She wraps her arms around me. "So, is that a yes?"

"Yes, let's get out of this crazy town." She kisses me. I grab her by the hand and lead her upward. As I close the door behind me, I turn around to discover that she has taken her clothes off. I bite my lip and scan her from top to bottom. I move toward her. I hoist her with my hands on her behind. My tongue parts our mouths as she presses her lips against mine. With her hands on my back, I lay her down. She puts her palm on my cheek as I fix my gaze on hers.

"I love you, Clay." She whispers, breathless. I can see the passion in her eyes and feel the warmth of her body against mine. "I love you, Ray." I kiss her, allowing our bodies to do the thinking, and I make love to her all night.
