Flashback

Mika

I ran after Kiefer's car when he started to speed up. I was literally shouting for his name and I knew that he could see me from his mirror view, but he didn't stop.People around were looking at me as I started to break down and cry. I sat on the corner of the street with my head down. I couldn't get up and my crying was terribly bad. But someone walked in front of me and offered a hand. And when I looked up....

"I knew it. It's you", he said.

I just looked at him blankly with my swollen eyes.

"Tayo ka na", he said while reaching for my hand for a lift.

I was hesitant. I just couldn't help but cry.

"Sige. If ayaw mo tumayo, pwede bang ako na lang umupo?"

He sat beside me but with a considerable space in between. I was wiping my tears using my shirt when he offered his hanky.

"Use this. Di ko pa ginagamit yan for today", he said and handed it over to me.

But I just looked at him and continued to cry.

"I'm sorry. Feeling close ba ako?", he said.

"What are you doing here?"

"I just tried my luck. May gusto kasi akong makita", he answered and smiled.

"Nakita mo ba?"

"Yes. Nasa harap ko na nga eh. Kaso hindi ata siya natutuwa na makita ako. Umiiyak eh."

I stood up and started to walk. I don't want to give him the impression that I'm tolerating him. But he ran after me.

"Mika. I'm sorry. I'm just telling the truth."

"Please, just leave. I have a boyfriend."

"What if you don't have one?"

"Just stop, please? Kiefer and I are happy."

"Happy? Pinaiyak ka niya. That's what you call happy?"

"You don't know anything. You know nothing about us", I said and cried harder.

He stopped me from walking and gave me a hug, but I pushed him away.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm sorry. I just want you to know that whenever you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm always here."

"You're a nice person I know. But you're not the one I need", I said and walked away.

"Not now. But soon Mika, soon", he shouted.

Present

Kiefer

My family wanted to watch a movie after dinner, but I didn't join them for obvious reasons. I'm just not in the mood. I asked if I could just make my way home, and I'm glad that they all understand.

I was just lying in my bed when Pauly barged in.

"Tara basketball", he said.

"Not in the mood", I answered.

He sat at the edge of the bed taking his back at me. I slightly pushed him using my right foot.

"Uy, problema mo? Bakit parang senti ka diyan?", I said.

He stood up and faced me.

"May sasabihin sana ako eh."

"Go, ano yun?"

"Sure ka?"

"Ano nga? Sabihin mo na."

"Eh kasi ano eh..."
