Why?
Why I chose to define the word 'POEM'.
That might seem an easy thing to do.
But for me that's not true.
I was never a lover or a student of this noble art.
Like most of us I was set my first challenge at school.
I do recall the book it was based on.
It was William Shakespeare's, A Midsummers Night's Dream.
Sadly, I retain no memory of what was written.
But I do remember the trauma that rippled through my mind.
As I tried to understand why one would write something that was difficult to comprehend.
It was and still is an alien concept to me.
Life was already complicated enough for a child.
And so, to this day my definition of the word 'POEM' remains the same.
It is just another way of writing a story.
