Our Moon, Our Stars

"Our moon, our stars"

"Who do they think they are"

"Everything is about possession"

"It is part of their psychology"

"Human nature, I guess"

"Do they appreciate the true reality"

"For when stars look back, in our direction"

All you see is blackness"

"The moon and earth are so, distant"

"And insignificant"

"Only a few of you can see our red sun"

"At a time before the birth of man"

"I'm pleased to say, behind every cloud-like nebula"

"There is a silver lining"

"You can't see us, we are invisible"

"You don't know we are here, so you will not call home"

"To some hostile alien race, pointing the way here"

"Well, not any time soon, how glad I am, that this conversation"

"Is taking place inside my head, hope you are not empathetic"

"I do not want you reading my mind"

"So"

"Good night"

"God bless"

"Sweet dreams"

"See you tomorrow"

"And remember"

"We are so small, that"

"No stars watched us arrive"

"And none of you will watch us leave"

"Even when our Sun goes Supernova"

"So"

"In effect, we are alone"

"Travelling like a manic corkscrew"

"Through an ever-expanding void"

"In an endless Universe"

Footnote:

Please note, our one-sided conversation, was held, inside this poet's head, and he's watched a few science videos, of late, and found it amazing, just how insignificant our solar system is, just writing it was an epic journey.
