We think we have seen all the earth's oceans

And witnessed all their mysterious wonders

They can be calm and clear

On a bright summers day

They can be angry and dangerous

On a cold winters night

But all the world's greatest oceans are floating on a bed of rock

However, the bed of rock is never still

For, in turn, it floats on an ocean of molten lava

In deathly silence, it oozes up from the earth's core

This silent but powerful giant is always flexing its muscles

Moment by moment it forces the sheets on the bed apart

They are on a constant journey of mass destruction

Where they collide, they cause the earth to tremor

To them, it is little more than a rumble in the jungle

But on the surface, it is a matter of life or death

The poor people of Haiti have been left in desolation
