The Creaking Bed
When I awoke this morning, my bed made a strange noise
I was in the middle of yawning, I did not recognize the sound
It only happens when I move, something that now lacks elegance and poise
All right I heard what you said, blame it on the pandemic, I have put on the odd pound
Not certain what it was, I crawled slowly across the bed, like a lumbering tortoise
I could not believe it, the sound was following me around
It would have helped if it was a waterbed, then I would have swum across, like a porpoise
It felt like I was going mad, but then there was a bang, I had rolled out of bed and crashed onto the ground
Footnote:
It was unpleasant to experience, but you have just got to laugh, I'm getting bored with these aged lucid dreams, I much preferred the ones I had as a teenager.
