The Dog's Basket
The truth is it wasn't long ago when I frowned.
If people let their pets roam around the house and climb all over the furniture.
Leaving dirty paw marks, covering everything in hairs and other creepy-crawly things.
The thought of them climbing the stairs and wandering around the bedrooms was abhorrent.
Now my allergies and pests are under control, the way I behaved seems so cruel and callous.
For when you welcome a pet into your home it should become family.
Free to share the home's happy vibes with everyone and everything.
But since little Hope's arrival some three and a half years ago.
My whole dynamic has changed for the better.
He now has baskets in the lounge and conservatory.
He even has one on my bed, where at night he sleeps when not curled up beside me.
F/N: The crazy thing is, little Hope belongs to my ex-wife and best friend, but he is still family, and this is his second home.
