Higher power - Lando Norris

7. Ruin my night

I walk out of my bathroom, race day. I'm excited, really exited. It's been a long time ago that I woke up this happy. I look at myself in the mirror quiet pleased with how i looked in the white dress. All the negative thoughts of the past days were gone for a moment, I just want to enjoy this day. I grab my purse and leave to the hotel restaurant to get some breakfast. I knew Max always went for a run before races to calm his mind, so I didn't expect him to be in the restaurant. It didn't bother me, I was old enough to eat breakfast by myself.

I sat down and started with my bowl of yoghurt with fruit, it tasted amazing. I grabbed my phone and scrolled through my Instagram wishing some of the drivers good luck in the comments of their newest post. I look up from my phone when Lando took place at the other side of the table. I smile "good morning milkboy" he laughs "good morning sunshine, did I just get a nickname?" I nod and laugh too. We talk about the race a bit before Lando changes the subject I don't want to talk about "So sunshine, how are things with George?" I instantly get a bit awkward and look down at my almost empty bowl. "Well, he is really sweet and caring, I just don't know if I see him as a friend or more" Lando isn't really pleased with my answer, he looks away and hums at my responds. I eat the last bit of yoghurt and get up "well umh good luck today, see ya" and with that I just walk away, how could I be so stupid and why would I even share whatever is up between me and George. I don't even know Lando for longer than 4 days.

I was walking toward to the Red Bull moterhome when suddenly someone grabs my upper arm causing me to turn around. I jump in reaction "what the hell" when I see it was George I let out a sigh "why do you have to scare me like that" he laughs at my scared reaction, I softly slap his arm "you are mean" he hugs me "I'm sorry didn't mean to scare you like that" I giggle "It's okay now" He pulls back and looks at me "So you ready for the race" he ask, I laugh " Shouldn't I be the one asking you if you are ready?" He nods " kinda true, but it's more exciting for you since you didn't watch Max race in a few months" It's cute George remembers this from our little coffee date " Well I'm really excited to watch Max, you and the rest of the boys" he looks quiet happy I mention him as well "I got to go now but I will see you after the race, okay?" I nod "sure good luck" I kiss him on the cheek and watch how he turns around. He looks back at and I wave him goodbye. But then he turns around, walks towards me grabbed my face and kissed my lips. It was a small pack but I was really confused about it, when he pulled back and looked at my face for a reaction, he whispered " Sorry I wanted to do that for so many times now" I just look at him in shock, still not sure what just happend, he then turns around again and walks of to the Williams garage. I snap out of the shock and look around, putting some hair behind my ear not sure knowing what I should do now. 

When I look around a see a brown haired boy with blue eyes in an orange suit, looking really mad toward me. He walks away when he see that I notice him staring at me. I turn bright red, what was I supposed to do. I didn't even know my feelings toward George and why would Lando be mad about me kissing him, we only locked eyes ones but it didn't feel like something. 

After standing at the same spot for like 5 minutes I turn around and walk to the Red Bull garage, my head is spinning of overthinking. I liked that George likes me but does that make me like him, it's really confusing. I get into the garage of Max and see him putting his helmet on, I make a run toward him before he fully has his helmet on and kiss him quickly on his cheek. When he finnaly can see it's me who kissed his cheeks he says "where were you? I though you wouldn't give me your lucky cheek kiss" I smile at him "I was lost in the paddock, couldn't find my way back" the only though going to my brain was 'your an idiot, lost in the paddock really Nina'. Max looked at me with a really confused face, but I was saved by his engineer who commanded Max to get in his car.

I walked back to the place I could watch the race, I putted on my headset and heard Max talking to his engineer "radio check max, radio check" with max responded to with "check, let's win this race" I smile at the sound, I wanted him to win the race but I also knew that there were more good teams out there.

It was the final lap and Max was still at P1, I was really excited. It wasn't a eventful race all the drivers did good and only with the opening lap there was one incident but nobody was out of the race. Sad part, George and Pierre had to DFN after their cars  weren't working like they should. I felt sorry for George and already decide to find him after Max him podium.

Kelly, Vicky and me were running toward the podium when Max drove into the p1 place, I was so proud of him winning this race. He got out of his car and did his normal pose, it was iconic. He then jumped onto his team, who embraced him. he then kissed Kelly and gave Vicky a hug, he than turned to me. I gave him an thigh hug "congrats you did it Max, you won your homerace" I could see him smile true him helmet, I gave the side of his helmet a kiss and he whispered "this one is for you, thanks for being here with me" I felt special at that moment, he just told me this win was dedicated to me. 

He had to do his interview and I couldn't stop smiling hearing his voice to the speaker "Congrats Max, this is a big one for you" the interviewer started " Yes thank you, it is a big one for me, my home race and a special guest this weekend, it couldn't get any better" he smiled at me and I almost cried of happiness "yes we saw pictures in the media of you with your cousin, she is here to support you, this right? maybe she was part of your luck today" Max laughs " Yes she is here and I'm happy to have her on my side this race, I dedicate this race to her because she is one of the most important people in my life" when he told this, I felt a tear go down my cheek, I was happy. "well enjoy your podium Max, you deserve it" He thanks the interviewer and waves at his fans before getting inside to go to the podium. I didn't hear the rest of Max or the other drivers.

It hit me when I saw Lando placed third this race, he didn't look really happy. I could see he was faking a smile and when we locked eyes and I gave him a smile and waved, he quickly looked away. I still thought it was strange and I felt a bit guilty for not noticing he placed third earlier.

A/N

Well that's already chapter 7, she kissed George or should I say George kissed her. This chapter is kind of a rollercoaster but I want to spice it up a bit. Nothing more to say, thanks for reading.
