Higher power - Lando Norris

13. Hangover

First practise was already done when Nina finally arrived at the track, well her body was there, her mental state was somewhere still in the restaurant. She looked like a mess but didn't really care, the Friday usually wasn't really busy with people. So she walked toward the Red Bull motorhome when Lando walked toward her. Nina didn't really know much about last night before bed, this morning she was surprised she was in her own hotel room."Hello there sunshine, all sober now?" I put my hands for my face and sighed "yes I'm but I want to sleep really bad right now" he laughs "you already slept in and you still want to sleep" I nod and chuckle "Yes Lan I want sleep" He laughs a bit uncomfortable and then it hit me he saw me last night "Umh Nina, you asked me something last night, you really want to know the answer?" I play dumb and act like I don't remember it "Did I see you last night?" Lando looks away a bit sad "yes you did but you were wasted, it's nothing", "you sure Lan, you can talk to me?" he smiles at me "I know sunshine but it was nothing really", "okay, well good luck with practise 2 and I will see you later tonight I guess" I was kind of disappointed that he didn't told me what I wanted to hear, of course I knew my stupid question about him liking me.

I walked to Max when I finally arrived at the garage "good morning Max" he laughs at me "good morning Nien, you look tired, did you drink last night?" I give him the middle finger "fuck off" he laughs at me and I couldn't hold back my chuckle. He pulls me into a hug "I have to race again but we will go to diner tonight, just the two of us" I nod and we decide on the place and time before he is off to his car again. I watch the boys do their practise and get myself some breakfast or should I say lunch, I didn't know I just needed food. 

I left track right after the practise not wanting to talk to people, I wanted a warm shower and a nap. I get into my rented car, it was a Honda NSX and the only thing I knew it was a really fast car. I drive toward the exit of the parking lot when somebody jumps in front of my car. I never braked so fast and I was a bit shocked. I saw it was Daniel so I was a bit mad why would he jump in front of a car, he could have died if I was distracted. He gets into the passengers seat "what the hell Dan, why would you do that?" he laughs "I wanted to see if you could react fast, no I'm joking I needed a drive. I don't want to ride back with Lando, he is not as fun" I laugh "Lando can be fun and he is a good person to talk to Dan don't be a baby" I start driving and Daniel puts his seat belt on when he responds "you think so 'I don't like Lando' girl.", "shut up Daniel, or you can walk to the hotel" he laughs and stays silence. The rest of the drive was quiet, until we reach the parking lot Daniel starts talking again "Do you want to join me and some drivers Sunday night for some drinks?" I look at him with a little smile, Daniel knew I love party's "yeah sure, my flight is Monday afternoon so I will join you" He nods and gets out the car, I follow him and start walking beside him. "What are you going to do right now?", "I'm going to dinner with Max and get some sleep for tomorrow" he nods "well I will see you tomorrow have fun tonight" he kisses my cheek and we go separate ways to our hotelrooms.

I get ready and put on a red dress who fits my body perfectly, I'm a bit insecure about it because you can see every curve in the dress. I look at myself in the mirror and whisper to myself "you got this Nina" I put on some light make up and curled my hair. I grab  my purse and leave my hotelroom, when I get into the elevator there were already people in the elevator. Pierre and Lando were in a conversation until the doors of the elevator opened. Pierre spoke first "Wow Nina you look amazing in that dress" I blush and smile "thanks Pierre, you look handsome" he smiles at me and I look at Lando. His eyes were wondering over my body and finally he looked me in the eyes. He blushes when he noticed I saw him looking. I go and stand beside Lando, it's stays silence and the doors of the elevator open to the lobby. Pierre walks out first and Lando stays besides me when he whispers to me "you don't look just amazing, you look beautiful" I turn red and smile at him and mouth to him 'thank you' I then look away and see Max standing with his hands in his pockets. He smiles, nods at Max and walks to Pierre, I walk to Max and he kisses me on the cheek "you look beautiful Nien, your such a strong woman" I blush and giggle "thanks Max, you look handsome" 

We walk towards the restaurant and set down at a tabel in front of a window. We order our foods and something to drink. I drink for a change just some water instead of whine, I didn't feel like drinking again. We talk a bit about the practise and Max his expectations for this weekend. He was quiet positief and he thinks a podium is possible, the car felt steady today. Then Max suddenly changes the subject "Nina I wanted to ask you something, are you and Lando liking each other?" I almost choke on my water "Max no, of course not. I can't" He frowns, and looks confused "Why can't you like him, I think he likes you. And you were quiet flirty with him when you were drunk" I look away and hopes he drops the subject "Well, Nina your gonna answer my question?" the only though through my head was 'shit' "well, I don't know if he likes me but I don't wanna date someone you are racing against" he laughs " Well I don't care Nina as long as you are happy, you can date every guy on the grid expect from Mazepin or Daniel. That would just be weird" I nod "Well it's not my intention but we will see" he then finally drops the subject. We talk some more about my family and when Max can visit my mom before it's too late. After finishing our food and paying we walk back to the hotel, I kiss Max his cheek and thank him for the food and the nice evening.

I get into the elevator and walk to my hotelroom, I see Daniel also going into his room. He was in room 504 and mine was  502, I wave at him and blow him a kiss. He catches the kiss and waves back at me, I giggle. He was one of the sweetest guys she ever met.

A/N:     short story, I know :( sorry. I'm off to vacation, see you guys back on Saturday. I won't take my laptop with me so I can't update the story kinda sad but maybe a little break from posting much is good for the story. Not a good cliff hanger though......

Well have a nice week and see you guys back on Saturday or Sunday
