Higher power - Lando Norris

4. U can't be serious

( A/N: well new chapter, first of all, can we all look at the chapter picture. It's a drawing of @lando.and.his.milk on Instagram. I think it's really pretty🧡 Enjoy the story XX)

I woke up or my alarm woke me up, hate that sound but well i had too get up early because today it's media day for Max what means I'm going shopping. I really need some great outfits for upcoming days, because everyone in de paddock and is a guest of a driver looks way too good for just a race. So I put on some sweat pants and a top to eat some breakfast at the hotel. I walk into the restaurant and spot a dark brown haired boy with a really big smile. "Dan, can I sit with you?" I ask, the boy looks up to me and his smile who already was big turned to huge "of course Nien, grab some food and join me" I walk to the breakfast bar and grab some fruit and a croissant. I walk back to Daniel and take a seat. Just when I was about to start another chair was shoved back and Lando took place at our table. "good morning" I great him, he smiles and responds "good morning sunshine" I give him a little smile for the nickname he gave me and start my food. Lando and Daniel are talking about media day and how they wish it was already friday.

When I finish my food I wish the boys good luck and got up to leave the cafe when Lando asks: " your not joining us today in the paddock" He looks kinda sad or confused, I couldn't tell "No, I'm going shopping today for the race, too look extra fine" I say with a Australian accent, Danielle laughs at my impression. Lando nods "okay, well we will see you around I guess" he then looks away, it was kinda weird but I didn't care. I grab my stuff kissed Danielle on his cheek and left the restaurant.

I took Max his car because he would get to track with an other driver, I didn't care as long as i could drive his fast car. I was pretty good at driving myself just nobody ever noticed so it was my little secret I guess. I went into victoria secret to get some stuff and then went into a little boutique, it was really cute with beautiful dresses. I found a really cute dress for this sunday, it showed a lot but I didn't care. I wanted to be confidence in my body so why don't show it.

I went in to some other stores and got some other stuff for the rest of the days. I was tired of trying on closed and walking through the stores. I found a Starbucks so I went in and got myself a iced coffee with some avocado toast. I sat down and ate my food, while looking at my phone scrolling through my instagram. I liked some photo's and commented under Liv her new post. I finished my food when I got an DM from a boy named George. I open the message:

George Russel✅

Hey saw you walking on track yesterday, want to grab a coffee this afternoon?

Nina Verstappen

Umh yea sure, where?

I will pick you up from the hotel at 5

Sure

I grabbed my stuff and walked to my car, I had a lot of thoughts about the DM. Why would he wanna grab a coffee? What should I wear? Why would I see yes, I'm stupid. I got into the car after putting my bags in the back. I put my head in my hands and mumbled: " What did I do?" I snapped out of my thoughts and told myself : "happy thoughts, it's just a cup of coffee" I connected my phone to the car and put the song Streets by Doja Cat on I sang the whole song because it was one of my favourite songs from Doja Cat. 

It was 4 when I was back in my hotelroom, I decided to wear a cute little green dress with white flowers, I put a little make up on and added some lipgloss to make my lips pop. I looked at myself in the mirror and said to myself: " you are going to be fine, just a cup of coffee" I straigend my hair and looked at my phone. I saw  George messaged me that he was outside of my hotel, I replied and grabbed my purse and closed my hotelroom. Just when the elevator was almost closed someone put his feet between the doors, I looked confused at Lando when he got with me in the elevator. "hey" he looks at me and noticed then I was dressed up. "hey" I respond looking back to the doors of the elevator. "you look nice, going somewhere?" He suddenly asks. "Well George Russel asked me if I wanna grab a coffee with him and I said yes" He rolls his eyes without knowing I saw him rolling his eyes. "where are you going?" I ask to avoid his attitude. The elevator doors open "nothing of your bussisness" He said almost running out of the elevator. 

I was really confused but I had no time to think about it, I went outside and there was George. He was paying attention to his phone, so I had sometime to observe him, he was handsome let me tell you. Suddenly he makes eye contact, welp that's awkward. He walks up to me " Hey Nina, you look pretty" he looks really relaxed and not nervous at all and here I'm almost passing out. "Hey, you don't look to bad yourself" I said really smooth. "let's go, do you wanna walk or with my car?" He points to a really beautiful Mercedes. "I'm fine with both" I tell him hoping he would want to drive to the coffee shop. "Well then we will drive to the coffee shop" Can this guy read minds, he opens te door of the car and I get in. He runs to the drivers seat and starts the car.

We arrived at the cafe, it was a cute little old cafe, not much people but enough for a great break or date. He opened the car door and I got out. We walked into the cafe and I feel his hand on my low back while getting to a table. We sit down and order coffee, he looks at my with a big smile "So your the cousin of Max right? " I let out a little sigh "yes I am, but I rather be called just Nina" He laughs at my respond " Same attitude as your cousin, I see" I giggle at his responds, it's kind of true "Let's say it's just a family thing" He nods. We get our coffee and I take a sip " What about you your a formula 1 driver for Williams, right?" He nods while taking a sip of his coffee "Yes I am, but there is more to me than only being a driver" We talk about his family and about the race this weekend. After finishing our drinks, we order something to eat and he drinks some cola, I get a white whine. We talk about a lot of stuff and it's really fun till he asks about my family, the subject I will always try to avoid.

"So what about your family? " I laugh a little bit nervous "Well I don't have much family left, my dad passed away a year ago and my mother is really sick. I have one big brother who lives in London for his girlfriend" George sees  I'm getting a bit uncomfortable " I'm really sorry, if you don't want to talk about it I completely understand. If I knew this I would be more careful asking you, sorry" I give him a little smile "It's okay you couldn't know"

We talk a bit more until we finish our food and drinks, he brings me back to my hotel and he opens the door of is car to let me out. I turn to him and look up at him "Thanks for tonight, I had a lot of fun" He nods and whispers  "Me too" he kissed my cheek and I said goodnight to him. I went up to my hotelroom and laid down on my bed with a mixed feeling. He kissed me on the cheek but I also do that with my guy friends, so was this just a little chat with a friend or did I just went on a date with a driver?
