To distract himself from what Xie Lian had told him, Wei Wuxian excused himself to walk around the neighborhood to find some fresh air. Lan Wangji knew that he needed some time alone, so he let Wei Wuxian go by himself.
Wei Wuxian knew that gaining his memories was crucial, but he just did not want to… use Lan Wangji like that. He respected him and liked him too much to do that, and he knew that Lan Wangji felt the same since never once he did anything to force him to do things he did not want to. Sure the case was important, but for him Lan Wangji was too precious to him to use just for a case. In short, he just needed some time.
Wei Wuxian walked to the outdoor cafe not too far from BingQiu's house and sat outside. He ordered a banana rum milkshake because he didn't like coffee, and slurped it with gusto when suddenly he felt someone looked at him with such a piercing gaze. He looked around to find a tall person covered in black leather from top to bottom complete with black matte helmet was looking around for an empty seat but did not find it, since the cafe was bustling with lunch goers. Wei Wuxian felt pity so he waved at the person and pointed at the empty chair in front of him. The person gave him a thumbs up and walked to his direction, then he sat on the chair and took off his helmet.
The person under the all black leather was an older gentleman, with shocking white hair and a very handsome feature. He was tall, built, and his smile was very bright.
"Thank you for your kindness, Miss." He shook Wei Wuxian's hand. "I was hoping to get a quick bite and milkshake here, and it seems like you have the same idea." He grinned and pointed at Wei Wuxian's milkshake. "Their banana rum milkshake is out of this world!" The man took off his jacket to reveal both of his fully tattooed arms.
"Nice sleeves, Mister." Wei Wuxian appreciated the black and white tattoos, done with such details and expertise, it would probably be done overseas by an ink master specialized in black and white.
"Thanks!" He ordered a vanilla milkshake and beer battered fish and chips with extra spicy sauce, and it was only a short time before his order came out with a tantalizing smell.
"Wow, you're the man of my own heart, Mister…" Wei Wuxian looked at his order and drooled at the spiciness.
"Here, we can share." He put the fish and chips in the middle of the table. "The least I can do for your kindness."
"Nonsense. But I won't decline." Wei Wuxian grinned and took one piece of the fries. "Your bike?" He pointed at the custom Harley Davidson Cosmic Starship. "Bartels?"
"Whoa, girl, you know your bike! Nice!" The man smiled, and somehow it reminded him of Lan Wangji. Maybe in fifty years he would look like this man. Wei Wuxian smiled. Very handsome.
"I just happen to be a motorbike aficionado." He toasted their milkshake and slurped it when he heard a commotion near them. He saw that a couple of young men were looking at the bike with suspicious looks in their eyes, then they walked toward their direction with slimy smiles on their faces.
"Yo, old man," one of the men spoke in a loud voice and the man in front of him pointing his finger at himself. "Yeah you, I happen to like your bike, let me buy it, how much is it?"
The man chuckled and answered in the same loud but pleasant voice.
"It's not for sale, young man, it's a custom work especially made for me. You can go find something else yourself." He bit his fish and smiled.
"Do you even know who I am?" The men came closer and Wei Wuxian noticed that a couple of others had joined them. "I'm the heir of Jin's empire, one of the richest families in this country, Jin Zixun. You should be honored I took a liking to your bike… old man." He looked at the tattooed arms in distaste. "Now, how much for the bike?"
