They went into a men's clothing shop, but Wei Wuxian didn't have any clue of what he should buy, since he never met the birthday man. Then they walked to the gadget shop, and yet still nothing. Wei Wuxian finally sat outside on a bench while groaning out loud.

"This is so frustrating! I have no idea at all what a twenty four years old man would like for a birthday present!" Lan Wangji only smiled and handed Wei Wuxian a rum raisin and baileys ice cream, which he devoured right away. "Unlike you, who knows exactly what I like." Wei Wuxian gave Lan Wangji a sloppy kiss that tastes like ice cream. Then he jumped back as if remembering something. "Baby, how stupid I was to not remember that you're also almost twenty four." Wei Wuxian gave Lan Wangji her most dazzling smile. "So tell me, what do you want for your birthday?"

Lan Wangji smiled back and cupped Wei Wuxian's face lovingly.

"I already have everything I've ever wanted for my birthday."

"Right. So, it's impossible for me to half myself and give the other half to the birthday boy."

"Don't you even dare thinking that. You're mine. Only mine." Lan Wangji kissed Wei Wuxian hard, and it made Wei Wuxian gasp in surprise.

"Yes, yes, I'm yours. Should I just bring the thirty years old Glenfiddich that we have a lot of, then?"

Right at that time Lan Wangji's phone rang, and it was from Lan Xichen. He frowned but he answered it.

"Wait a second, it's my brother. Yeah, brother."

"Don't tell me that I've never done anything for you, baby bro."

"What?" Lan Wangji was confused. Wei Wuxian then signaled him that he wanted to see another store and he nodded.

"Grandpa is back in town and he's planning a surprise birthday party for you this Saturday. Hell, he even planned to introduce you to a girl that he met during one of his escapades, he said the girl was perfect for you. There. Be wary. Be very very wary of grandpa's matchmaking. Oh, and you're not supposed to know about all of this, I told you since I know how much you hated surprise parties. Just bring Wei Ying and introduce her to grandpa when he asks you to come over. Case closed."

Lan Wangji wanted to laugh when he heard what his brother was telling him about. This ain't a coincidence. So the birthday boy was him after all, and the older gentleman was actually his grandpa. This was not surprising actually, judging from Wei Wuxian and his grandpa's personality, which would put them in the same situation sooner or later.

"Thanks for informing me, brother." He chuckled. "And don't worry about the matchmaking, I'm sure grandpa will like Wei Ying as much as I do."

Lan Wangji ended the call and looked for Wei Wuxian, who walked around to windowshop and was still confused about what to buy. Lan Wangji found him drooling in front of the Asian sweet pork jerky shop, instead of looking for gifts.

"We can buy that in bulk and give some of them as birthday presents." Lan Wangji was not joking since he knew his grandpa loved this jerky, although his mom forbade him to eat too much since it was so sweet.

"Can we?" His eyes shone so bright, Lan Wangji was ready to buy the shop for him.

"Of course you can." Lan Wangji kissed Wei Wuxian's forehead fondly. God, he loved this person so much, with all his quirkiness and all.

"Don't mind me if I do then." Wei Wuxian skipped happily into the shop and he bought the original flavour and spicy ones for himself. He also bought candied bacon in bulk since it was Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge's favourite snack. Since the purchase was so many, Lan Wangji told them to deliver the goods to Cloud Recess Hotel.
