I laid my head down into the cold wet grass and looked into the sky.

The sun was just about rising, and yet I still haven't even felt like sleeping.

I rolled over and placed my hand on the grass in search of James' sleeping body, but he was no where to be found.

I pulled my jacket up around my body and slipped on my shoes.

I looked down and noticed James' shoes were gone too.

I went in his house through the back door and called out his name.

"James?"

I walked up the stairs quietly because I assumed his brothers and sisters were sleeping.

Then I heard screaming.

I quickly rushed into the room at the end of the hallway, only to wish that what I saw was only my over-tired imagination playing tricks on me.

But it wasn't.

36 HOURS EARLIER

James wrapped his hand around mine as we walked home from school.

"So tomorrow is your 18th birthday, and your first birthday that we are together, what are we going to do?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"I'm really not that into birthdays." I shrugged off the topic.

"Well we have to do something." He begged.

"I guess we could just go to dinner with our families." I said.

Once we got to his house, his mother was in the kitchen with his little brother, Shawn.

"Hey Charlie." He said smiling.

I quickly waved to them as James tugged me by my arm and into his room.

"Now I wanted to wait to give this to you until tomorrow, but I can't wait I'm so excited." He said handing me a small box.

I smiled and took the box from his hands and unwrapped the box.

Two tiny pieces of paper were inside.

I carefully took them out and gasped once I saw what was written on them.

"TWO TICKETS TO SEE PAUL MCCARTNEY?" I yelled jumping on top of James and kissing him.

"Yeah you told me you never saw him live!" He said trying to talk through all of the kisses I was giving him.

I started to cry, literally physically crying.

Once I got over the shock, we ate dinner together, and he called me at midnight to tell me how much he loved me and to wish me a happy birthday.

My birthday was normal, our families went out to dinner, and so did Mckenna.

I wasn't expecting much, until at about 10 o'clock at night I saw headlights outside.

I quietly went outside because my mom was sleeping  and saw James in his car.

"James what are you-" I asked only to be interrupted by him picking me up and carrying me over

his shoulders.

"I'm kidnapping you." He said joking as pounded at his back to let me down.

He drove us quietly to his house as we quietly walked into his backyard.
