I was woken up by people talking downstairs two days later.

I dragged myself down the stairs to find James and my mom talking.

"What's going on?" I asked rubbing my eyes.

"School?" He said smirking and taking in my appearance.

I was wearing his old shirt and some sweatpants.

"Oh shit." I said taking his hand and leading him up the stairs.

He sat down on the bed as I scrambled to get ready in time.

"We can always miss first period." He said pulling me by my waist and lightly kissing my neck.

I lightly shoved at him.

"No we can't." I said smirking.

He sighed and laid down on my bed.

I got dressed and put my hair in a ponytail.

"Why did you forget to wake up?" He asked.

"I couldn't fall asleep. I'm nervous. this is my first day back after, you know." I said picking at my fingers.

It has been a week since I kissed James and been to the hospital.

"You don't think people will talk about it right?" I asked sitting on his lap and leaning my head back.

"No. And if they do, I'll be there and I'll beat the hell out of anyone who does." He said.

He pulled my face towards his and gently leaned his lips on mine.

He pulled away and looked in my eyes.

"I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I said leaving a single kiss on his forehead.

I quickly got up from his lap and took his hand in mine.

"We're gonna be late." I said picking up my backpack.

He quickly followed behind me and rubbed my hand.

"Mom we're going!" I yelled.

I got into the passenger side door.

"Please don't worry." He said rubbing my hand.

I also didn't know how people would react to us dating.

James was pretty popular at my school, I wasn't really.

I doubt people even knew we were friends.

I got out of the car and without hesitation he grabbed my hand.

"Don't worry about them." He said leaning in and kissing my cheek.

I nodded and I couldn't help but feel like everyone was staring at the two of us.

People whispered and glared at us.

James gave them all death stares.

"I'll see you at lunch." He said grabbing my cheek and kissing my lips.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too!" He yelled so that everyone could hear.

I cringed and everyone looked our way.

He winked at me and walked off.

I kept my head down as I walked to my first class.

I saw McKenna and she quickly ran towards me and wrapped her arms around me.
