-james-

I slowly blinked my eyes open to see Charlie soundly sleeping next to me.

I smiled.

I looked down at her wrists.

There was a large cut from last night, but already looked better.

I untangled her legs from me and I slowly crept out of bed.

I watched as Charlie lightly snored with her hair covering her face.

I smiled at her but suddenly realized why her wrists were cut and her cheeks were tear stained.

I frowned and left her room.

I got in my car and drove down the road until I pulled up at a familiar house.

I got out and knocked on the door.

I watched as a blonde girl with icy blue eyes open the door.

Fear struck over her innocent eyes.

"James what are you doing here?" She asked letting me enter the house.

"Where's Alex." I asked looking down at her.

I felt bad for being so nasty to Alex's sister, Emma, but I was too pissed at him to treat anyone with those blue eyes kindly.

"Upstairs." She said avoiding eye contact with me.

Without words I ran upstairs and into Alex's room.

I grabbed him by the shirt and slammed him against the wall.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing to her?" I screamed.

I threw a punch that hit him across his jawline.

He jumped back from the impact of the hit, but came forwards and threw one at me that connected with my cheek.

"I fucking messed up alright?" He said showing me away from him.

"I don't want to see you ever, ever go near her again you piece of shit." I saw releasing him from my grip.

"You don't deserve her." I spat at him.

"Who are you to tell me who I can and can't date? You're the one who almost let her get raped!" He screamed at me.

I launched myself back towards him and starting hitting him again.

He hit me a few times again until I knocked him to the ground.

"She's too fucking good for you. You're a worthless piece of shit." I said wiping blood from my lip.

"Get the fuck out of my house before I call the police." He said coughing and pointing towards the door.

I felt tugging on my arm and saw Emma.

"James go." She demanded.

I nodded and walked down the stairs towards the door.

"Listen Em, I'm sorry." I said making my way towards the door.

She nodded.

"I know what he did." She said shrugging.

"He deserves it." She said shyly.

I nodded.

"Make sure he doesn't go near her okay?" I asked.

She nodded.

Without another word I left.

I drove back to Charlie's house and using my spare key I quietly opened the door hoping that Charlie wasn't up yet.
