-charlie-

That past month dragged along while James was away.

The first day back to school I actually waited for James to pick me up, then I realized he was gone, so I had to take my little pink bike for a month.

James was taking online classes while he was in London, so the days he missed in school were not really considered absence.

Alex was fine after what happened with us, I was just glad he understood.

I also spent a lot of time with McKenna. She had a new boyfriend, David was his name.

I met him he was extremely nice.

Now it was Christmas eve I was going to pick James and everyone up from the airport and they were going back to our house for dinner.

Alex couldn't come, his grandparents flew in to spend Christmas with him.

I was about an hour early picking them up so I tried to make time pass as quickly as I could.

Once it had been almost an hour I stood and waited by the gate where their plane was landing.

I started seeing people coming out and soon enough I see James.

"Charlie!" He yelled dropping his bag running towards me and picking me up in a tight hug.

He spun me around and kissed my cheek.

I laughed and he set me down.

"How was London?" I asked as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Okay.. My grandma passed last week though." He said frowning.

"Aw James I'm sorry." I said.

He shrugged.

"Mum, where do we pick up our luggage?" He asked turning around.

"Over there." She said pointing.

Hannah was asleep in her arms and Becca was standing right beside her dragging her heals behind her.

That was a long flight for two little girls.

Shawn quietly followed behind me and James and Matthew stood next to James.

"So how was your flight?" I asked James' mom as we waited for their luggage.

"Okay, but long for these two." She said referring to the girls.

"Come here Becca." Matthew said reaching down and picking the little girl up in his arms.

I smiled up at James as he rubbed my shoulder.

"Where's Alex? I thought he was coming." James said.

"His grandparents flew in." I said.

"You guys okay?" He asked a little more quietly.

I nodded.

"He understood." I said referring to the night he left.

He nodded.

After they had gotten their luggage we made our way back to the car.

"Please let me drive Charlie you're probably exhausted." James' mom said.

I nodded.

"Thank you."

James and I sat in the back seat along with Matthew while Shawn sat in the front and the girls sat in the way back.

James had himself propped against the window I had my head on his chest and he had his arm lightly around my shoulder.

He started playing with my hair.
