I need you to be okay - part two

The hours dragged by. You didn't move from your seat. Mina let you lay your head on her shoulder, hoping you'd find a little comfort in her and the girls and their reassuring words.

They all put on brave faces. They didn't want you to know that they were just as scared as you. But they felt the exact same fear; that you might lose Dahyun.

"Do you think they're almost done with the surgery?" You mumbled and Mina sighed beside you, patting your shoulder comfortingly.

"Hopefully."

You closed your heavy eyes. There were tear stains on your cheeks and your tears would still fall on occasion. Despite knowing that no news is good news, you're desperate for someone to tell you that she's going to be okay.

You heard the doors open and you all turned your heads as soon as you heard the footsteps approaching you.

"Who's here for Dahyun?"

You all raised your hands and the doctor nodded.

"Okay. Who's the girlfriend?"

"Me." You said and quickly stood up. "Dahyun's okay? Please tell me she's okay? She's okay, right?"

The words fell from your lips in a rush, a complete panic. You felt a hand fall to your back as Sana got up to come to you and try to get you to calm down and take a breath.

"She's going to be okay. I won't lie - it was bad. She had some broken bones and some serious cuts. She's got some whiplash. She's going to need quite a few weeks to rest when she gets out, which isn't going to be for a few weeks."

You all nodded.

"But she's awake. She's asking for you, y/n. She's asked for all of you, but I think y/n needs to go back first."

"We agree completely," Momo said.

"Just tell her we love her and we're waiting to see her," Nayeon said.

"Promise I will." You said and then followed the doctor.

The ride up the elevator and the walk down the hall was torture. Your knees shook beneath you with every step you took.

"She's right in here." He said and opened the door, letting you in first.

"Dahyun? You have a visitor." He announced and followed you in, just to check on her.

"My baby," she smiled as wide as she could and tears filled your eyes at the sight.

"Dahyun! I'm so happy you're okay!"

You nearly fell to the floor as your legs threatened to give out, only for the doctor to guide you to the chair. You scooted it across the floor and as close to her bed as you could.

"I was so scared. I didn't know if you'd make it."

"You should know I'd be pulling through. I'm tough." She said and smiled a little as you wrapped your fingers around hers.

"Besides, I can't go anywhere. I have a girlfriend that I plan to spend the rest of my life with, eight best friends with who I get to live out my dreams, and a lot of fans who look up to me. I'd never give up so soon or so easy."

You chuckled through your tears. She's so strong that it blows you away.

"The girls want me to tell you they love you and can't wait to see you."

"I feel the same." She said and frowned a little as you hung your head and went quiet.

"You shoved me out of the way..."

"Better me than you." She said softly. "I can't stand the thought of you being the one lying in this bed."

"Like it's easier for me? I feel so guilty."

"Y/N," she whispered softly. "It's not your fault. You've got nothing to feel guilty about. I would do it again and again if it means you being right here by my side, safe and sound. What's done is done. I have no regrets." She said. "All that matters to me is you. Everything is going to be okay. I'm just fine."

You nodded and moved to kiss her cheek.

"But you'll have to take care of me in a few weeks when I get home."

"Happily." You smiled. "I'll wait on you..." you paused and nodded to her other hand that got broken and then at her left leg, which did the same. "Hand and foot."

"Very funny." She giggled.

"But seriously, I'll take good care of you. I'm not leaving your side now or then or ever. I love you."

"I love you more, my sweet girl." She said. "So much."

You just stared at her, feeling so thankful she was going to be okay.
