“I went to Addy's room to apologize and see everyone, but no one was in there. Where is she?” I ask, worried.

“She went into surgery an hour ago.” Archer says, standing up and walking over. I look at him, confused.

“I thought we had three hours before her surgery.” I say.

“They decided to take her in early. The OR was ready.” Mark says, holding my hand.

“Why didn't anyone come get me?” I asked a little upset.

“We knocked on the door, but you didn't open.” Dad explains.

“When will the surgery be over?” I ask, looking at everyone.

“In about... three hours.” Sam says, looking at his watch. I sighed, and sat down beside mom and Mark.

“It's going to be alright.” Mark says, soothing me.

“What if it isn't? What if she doesn't wake up this time?” I ask, worried.

“She will, she's in good hands.” Dads says.

“That's what you said the first time, and now the suture on her pericardium is open and they have to repair it! Why does everything always happen to this family?” I shout, crying again.

“Bella-”

“No Mark. Don't 'Bella' me! I'm tired of everyone giving me sympathy and going easy on me.” I say, crying harder and turning and heading away. Before I could get far, someone grabs my arm. I turn around and see Mark looking at me with hurt eyes.

“Bella. I'm sorry. Please, forgive me.” He says, looking me in the eyes.

“I need some time to think. I-I'm sorry.” I say, pulling my arm from him and walk away, not really caring where I'm going right now. But, when I round the corner, I realize that I'm standing right outside Teddy and Meredith's room. I was about to knock, when I overhear them talking about someone.

“I just don't know what' gotten into her. Ever since she married Mark, she's never been the same.” I hear Meredith say, now knowing that they're talking about me.

“I know. She's gotten worse since she had Lilly though. She cries all the time, saying everything's her fault. I'm tired of it.” Teddy says, agreeing with Meredith. At this, I decide to go in and tell them something.
“The funny thing is, I do all of those things because they ARE me fault, I cry because I'm scared and worried, I haven't changed since I married Mark, and yes, I guess I have gotten worse since Lilly was born. But that's because I'm a mother now. It happens.” I say, upset again.

“Bella, we weren't-”

“Don't say you weren't talking about me. Who else do you know that's married to a Mark and has a daughter named Lilly?” I ask, madder.

“Bella, we-”

“Save it. I'm getting tired of this.” I say, walking out of the room and heading to an on-call room. Once I get in there, I sit on one of the beds and cry, until I hear someone knocking on the door.

“Bella. Are you in here?” Sam asks.

“Yes.” I say in between sobs.

“Addison's out of surgery. I thought I should tell you.” He says. At this, I open the door and look at him. When he sees my face, he pulls me into a hug.

“It's okay. It'll be fine.” He says soothingly.

“What if it isn't?” I ask, looking at him.

“It is. None of them should need any more surgeries and are healing great.” He says, smiling a little.

“I guess you’re right.” I agree, wiping my tears and smiling back.

“Come on. Let's go see Addy.” He says, pulling me with him, but I stay still.

“I need to see someone first.” I say, running to the waiting room. When I get there, I see Mark, along with everybody else, with his back towards me, sitting down. So, I go over to him and sit down. He doesn't see me because his head's in his hands, but he looks up when he hears me.

“I'm sorry.” I say, looking at him.

“What?” He asks, clearly confused.

“I shouldn't have yelled at you like I did earlier. I'm sorry.” I say.

“Don't apologize. It was my fault. You told me not to show you sympathy and I didn't listen. I deserved it. You should be forgiving me.” He says, looking down. So, I lift his chin up to look at me.

“And I do.” I say, smiling and leaning in for a kiss, which he happily obliges to. When we pull away, everyone is looking at us and smiling.

“So, who wants to go see Addy with me?” I ask, standing up and looking around.

“I will.” Mark says, standing up too and holding my hand in his.

“Anyone else?” I ask, looking around again.

“Ok. I'll see you later then.” I say, walking towards her room when I see no one else stand up. When we get to her room, she is awake and looking out the window by her bed. But, she turns to us when she hears us come in.
