CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR YOU INSTEAD OF ME
Build up your walls...
Build up your walls..
Build up your walls...
This was was the only thing that had stuck in Artemis' head. It came as no surprise to anyone when they noticed her cold attitude toward everyone. Artemis was slowly but surely beginning to change to something deep and dark.
She forced herself not to think of Hermione.
'...The filthy Mudblood doesn't deserve to be in your mind...'
She forced herself to not think about all the Muggles she killed through these months.
'...They are vermin's who deserve to die. You did the world a favor, you are cleaning our world from these parasites...'
She stopped to think about her friends in Hogwarts, her family, her brother.
'... Just foolish idiots, yes, they are bloody deluded idiots...'
She was no longer terrified or frightened by what she was doing. It seemed like something in Artemis clicked during the conversation with her mother that night. Little by little, Artemis grew colder and merciless, at least that was how she looked in the eyes of the others, but no one could see the hidden truth when she returned to her room and tried to remove Hermione's disgusted face or Andromeda's disappointment when she looked herself in the mirror. Artemis was lost in her anger and frustration.
However, she did not dare to show it to anyone. Tom and Draco kept trying to talk to her, trying to reason with her, to understand what was happening to her, but Artemis always answered them sharply.
"It's none of your business."
Theo and Daphne, on the other hand, were too traumatized to deal with her, but they didn't miss to ask her how she was feeling, even though they knew the answer "fine" would be complete rubbish. None of them were fine, especially Artemis.
Her mother was still stubborn and wanted more from her daughter. Constant lessons and training were required of her, and Artemis continued to build her walls until she was capable of killing and torturing a muggle without even blink. The other four stared at her in horror as she simply cast a bored glance at the dead body and left the room.
The days passed, Artemis's attitude did not change, but on the other hand, something kind of brighter was coming - a wedding. This was probably the only good thing that was happening this summer, and despite the terrible situation Tom and Daphne were stuck in, they were happy.
Still Diagon Alley wasn't its usual happy place when Draco, Daphne and Artemis walked down the street on the morning of August 6th. After receiving her OWLs, with Artemis receiving high grades in all her subjects, she left Rosewood Manor with Daphne and Draco to retrieve Daphne's wedding dress and begin their mission for Voldemort.
