Mandy’s POV
We had all just gotten to Alisha and Joel’s, when the doorbell rang. I looked around seeing everybody here already.
I looked over at Brian. “Who do you think that is?”
He shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know babe. Let’s go sit down.” We made our way to the dining room when I noticed Billy and Linzi sitting in our seats.
I shrugged it off and sat at the other end of the table with Jimmy and Leana.
Me and Leana were talking about the wedding shower, when Alisha walked back into the dining room.
“Hey Ali, we were thinking we could—“ Then our dad walked in right behind her.
I tried to get up and leave but Brian put his hand on mine.
I couldn’t believe that Alisha had invited him here, what was she thinking?!
She sat down with him right next her. I guess now I knew why Linzi and Billy were in our seats.
“So you all know my dad right?” There were a few nods after Alisha asked that question. Of course everyone knew him after the fight in the hospital and when he brought Robin home.
I decided I needed to say something; there was no way that this was okay. I understood that this was Alisha’s house, but I couldn’t understand how she could let him back into our lives without even discussing it with me.
I cleared my throat. “So Brad, what are you doing here exactly?” Alisha sent me a warning glare that I just brushed off.
“I invited him Mandy. Please don’t start.” Alisha answered for him.
“I think he can speak for himself Alisha.”
Brad turned to look at me. “Well, I had a cup of coffee with your sister earlier today and she invited me over. I hope that this isn’t a problem with you. The last thing I want is you two fighting.”
“Are you kidding me?! Through everything it has been me and Alisha, no matter what and now you want to step in and cause problems between us?! You should just leave it’s not like your presence is doing anyone any good here anyway.”
Alisha’s POV
“Mandy stop it!” I yelled. I knew that this was going to end badly and that was the last thing that I wanted. Me and Mandy rarely fought, but when we did it was bad and I didn’t want this to happen, especially now.
I picked up Robin and handed her to Linzi. “Can you take her upstairs please Linz?” She nodded and was soon followed by Sarah and Clementine.
I knew that now since the kids were gone things were going to get much worse.
“I think we should all just calm down, this doesn’t need to get out of hand.”
Mandy looked over at Joel. “Can you just mind your business Joel. This has nothing to do with you. This is between me, Alisha, and our dad.” I looked at Mandy shocked.
“Are you fucking kidding me Mandy?! This has everything to do with Joel, because whatever happens right now affects Robin, which means everyone else sitting at this table because we are all a family. So if you don’t feel that way, then maybe you should just leave.” She stood up.
“Babe, don’t do this. You need to talk this out with Ali.” Brian said, but I knew that look in Mandy’s eyes and whether Brian left with her or not, she wasn’t going to stay.
“Fine. You want me to leave then I’ll leave, but just remember that I have been the one here for you not mom, and definitely not him.” She gestured to our dad. “But if this is what you think family is and this is how you want it to be, then here you go. I hope you’re happy.”
