A/N: This is a bittersweet moment for me, There She Goes has come to an end, but that doesn't mean the journey is over. I am working on the 3rd and final book, which will be posted in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out!
Joel’s POV
“Robin! Clementine!” I yelled for the girls who were upstairs playing, they both ran down and sat at the counter to eat breakfast.
“Thank you Uncle Benj!” They both said when he put their plates in front of them.
Benji sat down with me, Sarah, and Josh at the table.
“How are you holding up?” Sarah asked him.
He shrugged. “I have to be.”
“No you don’t, you still have 2 hours before the wedding, you can fight for her.” Sarah said.
“What else can I say to her Sarah? She obviously doesn’t want to be with me or she wouldn’t be walking down that aisle today.” He said.
“Benji, you aren’t trying hard enough, have you even talked to her today?” I could tell that Benji was starting to get mad, Alex was a touchy subject, he didn’t even want to talk to me about her lately.
“Yes Sarah. I talked to her and she is going through with it. Now drop it.” He slammed his fork down and walked upstairs.
“Sarah.” Josh said sternly and walked after Benji.
“What are we going to do?” She asked me.
“I don’t know, there really isn’t anything that we can do, if he is going to accept that she is marrying him then let him.” I said getting up and clearing off the table.
She followed me into the kitchen. “You can’t be serious? He is going to be miserable for the rest of his life if he loses her to him.”
“What do you suggest we do then?” I questioned.
“Mandy is coming to pick up the girls in 20 minutes so they can get their dresses. I think we just need to convince him to get in his car and go to the church and talk to her one last time and if she goes through with it then at least he won’t have that ‘what if’ in the back of his mind.”
I gave in. “Ok.”
Benji’s POV
“Maybe Sarah is right Benj? Don’t you want to at least say goodbye properly to her.” Josh asked me.
“Of course I want to, I want to end things right with her, but I know once I am in front of her I am going to fall apart and I won’t let her go, I will beg her to take me back and I know that she won’t, I know that Joey is the only thing that matters to her right now.” I admitted. It was the first time I had said it out loud.
“Just go Benji, this is what you need to do. If you decide not to let her go, then that’s that, but this is something that you have to do.”
“Okay.” I went into Joel’s room and grabbed one of his tuxes, I called Spencer and Mandy to make sure they could get me alone with Alex for a few minutes.
Spencer screamed so loud in my ear, I swear I couldn’t hear for a few minutes. I pulled up to the church an hour later and waited for Mandy to text me that it was clear to go in.
Mandy’s POV
I sat in this little room of the church waiting for the perfect opportunity to get Benji in here. Alex soon walked out in her wedding dress.
All the girls started gushing over how beautiful she looked and I walked over to her while Gena was fixing her make up.
“Ok. I’m not picking sides, but are you sure this is what you want? I mean Benji is your soul mate.” She looked at me sternly. “Sorry. Picking sides.”
