Alex’s POV
I sat in my room waiting for him to call me back, I knew it was a mistake, I was just feeling bad about what happened with Benji, and that usually sent me running to Joey. Joey had been a part of my life for a long time, way before I had even met Benji. Alisha used to say that he was my first love, but I honestly believed that I didn’t know what love was until I was with Benji. I just couldn’t handle getting my heart broken by him again, all he wanted was the chase, and I should have learned that a long time ago.
My phone then began to ring and I just stared at it, not sure if I should answer it, was I really ready to bring Joey back into my life?
I finally decided to answer, what could it hurt? We would just go to lunch and catch up. Nothing else.
“Hello?” I said rather cheerful.
“Lex?” Joey was the only one that ever called me that, to me it was only acceptable coming from him. I wasn’t sure why, I guess just because we had known each other for so long.
“Hey Joey, it’s me.”
“Well, what a surprise? What have you been up to?” I filled him in on everything that had been going on, he knew about Alisha, and had sent his condolences to Mandy, but other than that we never heard from him.
I decided to go have lunch with him in a couple hours, to be honest I only called him because I saw on his Facebook that he was fighting in LA this weekend. Joey was always into boxing while we were growing up and he had decided to make it his career.
After we hung up, I called Linzi and asked her to come over and help me get ready, I hadn’t seen Joey in years and I wanted to look my best, I couldn’t let him see how I was really hurting inside, I wanted him to believe that I was happy here in LA.
Benji’s POV
I sat on Joel’s couch, waiting for Alex to show up with Linzi, Joel had said that they would be going through Alisha’s things today and I needed to catch her here, if I was going to have a chance to explain myself and everything that happened in Huntington.
I heard Joel walk downstairs a couple minutes later, he looked a lot better and I was glad that he was able to pick himself up if only for Robin’s sake.
“Hey Benj, what are you doing here?” He asked, while setting his guitar on the stand next to the fireplace.
“Well I was hoping to run into Alex, I really need to talk to her.” He looked confused.
“Why would she be here?” He asked.
“Weren’t you, her and Linz meeting today to go through Ali’s things?” I said cautiously.
He shook his head. “We were, but I decided I would tag along with Mands and Bri, they’re taking the girls to Sea World today.” I nodded.
I needed to see her, I guess I would just have to go to her house and hope she opened the door.
Joel stood there staring at me. “Benji what’s going on? I know I have been a little out of it, but you and Alex have been acting really weird around each other and aren’t you with Eliza now?”
“Yeah, but me and Alex had a moment, and I just don’t know what to do anymore. I think I want her back, but then I think of everything that has happened and it would just be easier to stay with Eliza, for me emotionally.” I admitted.
He sat down across from me and picked up an old photo album, I was guessing that it was Alisha’s. He pulled out a picture and handed it to me.
“Do you remember this?”
