Jimmy’s POV

I walked into Mandy’s room with McKenna and Brian; only two of us were allowed in here, so McKenna only talked to Mands briefly and walked out.

Brian was on one side of her and I sat on the other with Jamie in my arms. I laid him carefully next to her, keeping one hand on him the whole time.

Brian then began to speak. “Hey baby, it’s me again, this time I have Jimmy with me. There’s someone we all want you to meet.”

I moved her arm to be around the baby. “Hey Mands, this is James. I know he is anxious to meet his God mother, so you need to open those eyes, because when I get into stupid shit with Brian it’s up to you and Leana to raise him right.”

Brian laughed. “Yeah like they are any more normal then us.”

“Brian shut up.” Mandy said groggily. We both looked up quickly. Her grip was tighter around the baby now.

“Mandy, what? Are you okay? I need to get the doctor!” I put the side rail up on her bed so James would be safe and I ran out.

Brian’s POV

“Babe, you really scared me you know?” She smiled.

“I’m sorry, but I’m here now and that’s all that matters.” She moved Jamie over to the other side, where he was between us both.

“He’s beautiful.” I smiled.

“Yeah he is. Obviously takes after Leana.” I laughed.

She gently nudged me, her smile falling, I’m guessing she realized what had happened and I would soon have to explain everything to her.

“Why are we here? Is Leana okay? She couldn’t have had the baby already she’s only five months.”  She said worriedly.

“Five months? Mandy Leana went full term on her pregnancy and you have only been out for about a week.”

She laughed. “Nice try Bri, but seriously is Lee okay?”

I shook my head. I was totally confused and soon the doctor was in the room.

“Hey Mrs. Hart, how are you feeling?” She looked confused and turned to me.

“Brian, why did he call me Mrs. Hart?” The doctor then turned to me.

“Mr. Haner, can I talk to you outside for a minute? Mandy we will be back in a few minutes.”

He wheeled me outside and I told him everything that had just happened.

“We were expecting this from her surgeries and the hit she took to her head. I talked to Mrs. Madden about it; I thought she briefed you all on this.”

I shook my head. “No. Her mind has definitely been somewhere else, since her dad’s passing.”

He nodded understandingly. “There are certain events and memories that Mandy won’t remember, she might recover them all and she might not due to the short term memory loss. I’m guessing right now she doesn’t remember that she’s married.”

I nodded. “So what do we do?”

“Well, you guys are just going to have to work with her on it. We will explain the situation to her and hopefully it will help, but showing her pictures and talking her through some memories might help, but don’t push it. She will remember most of her lost memories gradually.”

I nodded understandingly and we walked back into the room to talk to Mandy.

She took things pretty well, but now I didn’t know how to break the news about her dad and everything that happened with Carey to her. I knew she wouldn’t understand any of it. She kept asking about how we ended up here, but I couldn’t tell her because she didn’t remember being married to Carey.
