A week later...

Val’s POV

We had all arrived at Joel’s and Alisha’s to wait for them to get home. Mandy and Carey went to go pick them up from the airport, and give them the news in a public place. Matt and I were still having a little trouble with it.

I just couldn’t understand what would possess her to say yes to marriage in such a short amount of time. None of us had really discussed it because they were always around or Brian was here, but right now none of them were and I was ready to bring up this nonsense.

“Okay, so I know everyone is thinking it and it’s about time someone brings it up.” Matt looked at me warning me not to say anything.

I ignored it and simply continued. “What the hell is Mandy thinking?” There were a few nods and we all just sat there, until Benji spoke up.

“I think Carey is scared to lose her to Brian again and he decided to step it up.”

Alex looked at him. “Even if that was the case Benj why the hell would Mandy say yes?”

Jimmy sat there and didn’t say a word through it all while we all bickered about the situation.

Then Billy jumped in. “Don’t you think we should all just support them in whatever they decide to do? I mean if it doesn’t work out so be it, but if it does we all just need to learn to live with it.”

We all kind of just sat there looking at him. I honestly had no idea what to reply to that.

Mandy’s POV

I stood at baggage claim with Carey waiting to see Joel and Alisha. It had only been a week, but I missed her so much. I needed her here to help me through all this, but I couldn’t deny that I was scared, she didn’t know that I was engaged and I wasn’t totally sure how she would take it.

“There they are.” Carey pointed towards the double doors that were wide open and Joel and Alisha emerged through the crowd, Alisha had the biggest smile on her face.

She ran up to me and hugged me. “I missed you so much!” I laughed and she turned around to hug Care.

“Hey Care.” He smiled and then Joel greeted us both.

We grabbed their suitcases and walked over to a sitting area.

“Ali, there’s something we have to tell you and please take it calmly.”

She stopped whatever she was doing and looked at me sternly. “You’re pregnant?!”

I shook my head quickly. “No. No. Just let me talk.”

I raised my hand near my face and her jaw dropped. “He asked me the night of the wedding and I said yes.”

She jumped up and gave me a hug squealing and cheering, definitely not the reaction I was expecting. “Oh my God! Congratulations!”

I heard Joel congratulate Carey and give him a hug. This wasn’t the reaction I was expecting, but I was going to accept it. I was happy that she could be happy for us.

We started to walk towards the exit when I passed a Rockstar machine. I saw the red can and I smiled sadly to myself. Carey grabbed my hand and the memories of me and Brian faded into the back of my mind. I couldn’t keep thinking about him, he was no longer mine, and Carey is a great guy that I love. Brian had to be pushed to the back of my mind.

Alisha’s POV

I walked into the front door of my house to see everyone was already there; Robin ran straight up to me and hugged me.
