 Johnny’s POV

“Lace this is all my fault.”

She turned to look at me sternly. “Jonathan Lewis Seward, none of this is your fault. You did not cause that driver to get drunk in the middle of the day and wreck into Mandy and Brian.”

“But I told Brian where Mandy was.” I interjected.

She sighed. “Babe that doesn’t matter, Brian would have found Mandy no matter what.”

I leaned on her and we sat quietly for a while. Alisha and Linzi had gone to get tested first, to see if they were a match to donate, we were all willing to give up a kidney for Mandy.

Alisha’s POV

After me and Linz got back to the waiting room, the doctor was talking to Matt. As I approached him he smiled. “Brian’s awake, but he keeps asking for Mandy.”

I didn’t know what to say, but Matt continued. “Maybe you should go see him, I can go with you.”

And that was when I lost it and I found who I was going to blame for all of this happening to my sister.

“No Matt. I am not going to go see him. This stupid life and your band is what ruined everything!”

He looked shocked and Joel tried to calm me down, but I wouldn’t let him.

“No! Our lives were great. I was in school, Mandy was working, we lived together and we were happy. Now look where we’re standing yet again, because you guys never know just when to back off!”

I couldn’t take it anymore; I walked outside to get some fresh air. I knew that someone would follow me, but I wasn’t quite sure who it would be.

Matt’s POV

After Alisha walked out, I sat there dumbfounded. Val took my hand.

“Matt she is just stressed out, you know she didn’t mean it.”

“I think she meant it, all of it and she’s right.”

She sighed and put her arms around me. The room had fallen completely silent.

All I could think was…

Where do we go from here?

Jimmy’s POV

I followed Alisha outside, I felt like we needed to have a talk about everything that was going on. I knew it was stressing her out pretty badly, but we all were feeling the same thing she was.

“Hey sis, you okay?”

She looked up at me and the tears just started falling.

“I’m sorry Jim. I shouldn’t have said all those things to you guys.”

I sat down with her. “Ali it’s okay. I promise it is, we understand. But there is one thing you need to understand.”

She stayed quiet waiting for me to continue.

“We are all a family now and no matter what you say or how you lash out on us, we are always going to be there. Always. No matter what.”

She smiled and we walked back into the hospital together.

Ali and Matt went to the cafeteria to talk and I decided to be the one to go see Brian first.

I knocked on the door and when there was no answer I opened it slowly.

“Syn?”

He turned to look at me. “Thank God, Rev! How’s Mandy? They won’t tell me anything.”

I sat down. “She’s not awake yet, but they say with the right care she’ll make it through.”

He smiled. “Can I see her?”

I shook my head and he frowned. “No Brian. You know that already, you just got out of surgery, you shouldn’t be moving a lot.”

He turned away from me.

“Come on dude, don’t be that way. I promise I will take you to her when the doctor says that it is okay.”

He looked back at me. “Does Carey know?”

I shook my head. “Joel’s been trying to get a hold of him, but his phone’s been off.”

He sighed. “You need to get a hold of Jim, as much as I hate it, he’s still Mandy’s husband.”

I nodded. “Brian, how did this happen? Why were you with Mandy?”

“I was determined to get her back, I went to her hotel room and when I walked in she was on the phone. She told Alisha that she still loved me. I took a chance and she wanted to be with me. This time I’m not going to let her go Jimmy, if she wants me I’m hers. I am leaving the past behind me.”

I smiled. “I’m glad to hear you say that, I’m going to call Carey.”

He nodded and I walked out.

I called Carey and on the third try he answered.

“Care, dude where have you been?!”

He sounded angry. “What do you want Jimmy? By now I’m sure you know Mandy left me.”

I sighed. “Carey, listen to me. Mandy did leave with Brian, but they got in a car accident. She’s in critical condition.”

“Where are you?”

I gave him the address and he hung up.

I peeked into Brian’s room. “He’s on his way.”

Brian nodded  and I walked back into the waiting room.

I noticed Alisha’s mom had arrived, Josh and the twin’s mom were sitting together, but Baby Robin was gone. I imagined she had been picked up by Sarah.

Alisha’s POV

I walked into the cafeteria with Matt. I immediately went over to the small Starbucks place in the corner.

“Hi, can I have a Mocha double latte extra foam, Venti.” The girl smiled and typed a few things in the before walking over to make my drink.

Matt then spoke. “I’m sorry about all this Ali.”

I shook my head, turning to look at him. “It’s not your fault Matt, I was out of line. It’s just I can’t lose her. I don’t understand why all this is happening.”

He pulled me in for a hug, “It will all work out and we are all going to be okay.”

Jimmy’s POV

I walked up to Joel. “I got a hold of Carey. He’s on his way.”

“This should be great.” He said rather sarcastically.

The doctor then walked in followed by Alisha and Matt.

Alisha was smiling. “They found  a donor, she’s going into surgery now.”

“Who is it?” Joel asked.

“We don’t know. They can’t release any information on the donor. Confidentiality agreement.” Matt answered.

Joel’s POV

I didn’t know how to feel about these next few hours, anything could happen while Mandy was in surgery and we were all extremely worried.

I was sitting with Alisha in my arms patiently waiting, when she broke the silence.

“I called my dad.”

I looked at her. “Why?”

“I thought he should know and I wanted him to offer to help her, but he never even bothered to return my call.”

I held her tighter as she began to tear up.

“I’m sorry baby, I wish he would realize what he’s missing.”

I wiped a tear from her eye and kissed her softly.

“You don’t need him. This is your family, we are all you will ever need.”
