Chapter 4: Are You Satisfied Now?

The whole moment of the ride was silent. No one speaks, she did not dare to speak. Though they apologized, the thought of her being in a lion's den scares her. She keep her mouth shut and didn't dare say a single word. She's too afraid that she might made a mistake that will lead to her end. After all, the leaders of the N City are not just ordinary men. They are the so-called owner of the N City. In a snap of finger they can make her vanish and no one will even notice.

'Why my home feels like a thousand miles away? And why did I agree to them to take me home in the first place.' She thought. Her head is low looking particularly to none. She's fidgeting her cold and sweating fingers. Absentmindedly biting her lips. She's nervous and it feels like her heart is going to jump out of her ribcage any moment now. It's making her anxious.

Usually the ride isn't that long, from hospital to her house is just a thirty minute walk.. ten minutes or so if by ride. But given her situation right now... the ten minute ride feels like forever. She feels like she's been sitting there for ages.

"So, Miss Lee how old are you?" Song Min Ho broke the silence.

She jump in surprise for a little bit. His question was too sudden plus adding his thunder like voice. "Dammit!" Because of nervousness she uttered loudly. She gasped and covered her mouth upon realizing what she just said. "I am sorry." She apologized.

The twelve leaders did not feel offended though, they understand what she's feeling right now. No one in N city had ever been with them alone this close in a spacious luxury car...only her and she's an exception. Some of them twitched the side of their lips and some just looked at her with amusement in their eyes.

"Ahm, what is your question again, Mino the leader of District 3?"

"How old are you Miss Lee?" Lee Hi doesn't need to ask him how did she know her name. Through the head waitress or Dahyun they can know. She will bet her life that they were well informed about her..and not even a single mole in her body will be left untold.

"I am 24 years old." She managed to answer even though she really felt awkward, embarrassed and nervous.

"So, who's in the hospital?" This time it was Nam Tae Hyun who asked while sipping on his americano coffee. Just like what she thought...they knew everything.

"My mother. She's diagnosed of stomach cancer." She turn her gaze back to the floor, since she doesn't have the guts to look at the intimidating, dark, deep and cold eyes of the leaders. She is only lifting up her head whenever someone is asking her a question, but only to see who's asking or who's talking.

"Owww. How is she?"

"She's fine. Two weeks from now is the schedule of her operation." She answered half lying, half truth. She's not really sure if her mother can be operated. The money she save isn't enough. There's a way if she agreed on Doctor Nam's advice or rather offer....which she don't want to do. But who knows...what can she really do for the sake of her mother. If she really run out of choice she might agreed to his offer. Since, Doctor Nam is also a fine young man with a beautiful face as well but only without a conscience.

"Thank you." Her reply is just simple and just based on what they are asking she doesn't want to expound her words or to prolong it. One question, one answer.
