"I know nobody knows, where it comes and where it goes. I know it's everybody's sin, you got to lose to know how to win.
Half my life's in books' written pages, live and learn from fools and from sages. You know it's true. All the things you do, come back to you."
Aerosmith was softly playing as I drew out blueprints for the next mission, and it made me think hard on my own life. It was relatable. What I had done wasn't exactly a plus in my karma, I had killed many just for the job. Before teaming with the Joker, I had a very small count, but after, I'd lost track, but I tried not to feel like I wasted thirty people at a time for nothing, but that's how it went in this lifestyle. I wasn't proud of this, but in order to be successful in this field, you had to be feared. All the things would, of course, come back to me.
I heard a shrill scream from a couple rooms down, it sounded like Rue. I dropped my blueprints and ran over to the room, stumbling over a bend in a carpet in the process.
The last thing I could possibly expect was happening. Poison Ivy had wrapped Rue up in vines, with poisoned plants nearing her face.
"Ivy?? Stop it! What are you doing?" I shouted angrily, extending my hand quickly and shoving Poison Ivy backwards. The plants mindlessly went on, touching the tips of Rue's fingers. I panicked, kicking the plant off harshly. Rue screamed as the disease spread on her arm, the plant so deadly it made the tips of Rue's fingers red like a horrible rash.
"Oh god....Oh god..." she whimpered, crawling into the corner. I was shaking, she was still my number one henchman, but she was more than that. She was a friend who I cared for deeply. She was also my highest paid employee, earning extra money just because of the good work she has done. In this situation, I would save her, of course I would, and I would never leave her behind.
Poison Ivy knew this, too, somehow.
"Oh, sweetheart, you look awfully shook up." Ivy grinned, slowly walking towards me with her strut.
I kept on guard, knowing she had ways of mind control. "And you look like you just ate something nasty. I think you might want to get your little problem checked out." I smirked, trying not to look weak at this point, even though I knew I probably gave too much as it was.
A low growl erupted from deep within her chest, her eyes narrowed. "I dare you to speak against me one more time, you delinquent!"
I laughed out loud. "Oh, so I'm the delinquent now? Alright, good one, any more false comebacks you got for me, Pammy?"
She blew a kiss at me, I put a small force field in front of my face. "Sorry, I don't roll that way, Red." I knew the kiss was laced with some mind control, but it was fun messing with the plant lady. She was insane, and so full of herself.
"You're as annoying as Catwoman!" she sneered, I chuckled, and shoved her against the wall without touching her or lifting my hands this time. I recalled the time Catwoman and I grabbed lunch together in our 'normal' looks, laughing about the time she pissed Ivy off. It was a funny story - To Selena and I, of course, and not to Pamela.
"Less talk, more play." she struggled against me, I felt something slither on my back and took out a knife, slicing the vine in half. It shrieked, to my surprise, so I moved out of the way. I cussed softly, then threw Ivy into the plants that were slowly making their way towards me. Her body weight crushed most of them, she looked at them in horror and screamed out. "My babies!" her eyes flashed, smoldering with pure hatred. They landed on me. "You!"
The plant's vine slipped towards me, coming dangerously close. I tried blocking it, but there were others.
I would never make it in time.
I felt the vines wrap around my neck, my nails pierced them in sheer panic. It was no use, they were tightening up.
I let out a shaky breath, kicking my legs, but I wasn't kicking anything in particular.
Thorns shot out through the vines, like tiny, hot needles. I shrieked in agony as I felt some toxin being released into my body.
"Memoria!"
I opened my eyes a little, but everything was blurry and in threes. I focused on the new figure in the room, it was at the door.
Jack. He furiously looked at Ivy, taking a gun out and aiming it at her, but he was distracted by the look on my face, watching as I gasped and struggled, but grew weaker and weaker at the second.
He looked horrified, he shouted words I couldn't hear and started to charge at Ivy now.
That's all I could make out before I gasped and passed out, the world surrounding me fading into black.
All the things you do, come back to you....
